I have a memory of what might be my first childhood exposure to computers. This was in the second grade, once or twice our class was marched up to the computer lab and did stuff on Apple 2s. I can't really say if it had a large impact on me, but I do remember exactly what we did. We copied line by line some sort of BASIC code that caused an x character to move around the screen and do circles. I vaguely recall not understanding how the circles worked.
Perhaps it instilled a sense of wonder and curiosity as it's one of my few memories of that time. One of the only other memories I have of that time is playing "telephone" where the story changes with each retelling, with the moral of not trusting gossip. So perhaps epiphanies and insights were all that my little head held onto from that age.
After that it's a blur of Gorilla.bas and trying to pass the age check on Leisure Suit Larry. Apparently by middle school I was comfortable with COM ports and IRQ conflicts so my suspicion is that 10 years old is unnecessarily late to expose kids to computing concepts.
Now excuse me while I get my speakers to quit clicking every time I move my mouse.:-)
If a couple 0dayz (+ a month or two) can cause this kind of a mess. Then how many guys worldwide are actively writing exploits? I think the skill should have at least a few thousand practitioners, so where is the daily chaos?
I do see to some extent the frustration the NSA must have over this. If the abusers weren't dropping ransom ware everywhere this wouldn't have had such a huge impact.
For you people who keep getting upset about this comment and marking me troll. I was throwing back his own logical inconsistency at him. I'm trolling a troll. He says leftists are ruining everything, and let's take the money from the rich. I'm telling him he is what he hates. Context is important.
good hard kick in the groin any time they suggest cutting the IT department's budget.
That's really odd. Generally department leads always seek budget increases and fight tooth and nail against the slightest decrease as it lessens their power and influence in the company.
So why would any CTO want to cut ITs budget when it's something they actively manage?
Guess they just put the difference into their bonus.
he may in fact be suffering from an onset of Alzheimer's (disjointed speech, erratic personality, highly limited covabulary and repeated use of generic words such as something, anything etc.)
Poor Kiuas.:-( It's happening already.
when this possibility was brought up aqfter the elections it was held as layghable by most.
the Alexandria shooting suspect has died from injuries.
I understand why arrested people are called "suspected ____" as they are considered innocent until proven guilty but this grammar is so odd to me logically.
There's never media reports of a "suspected shooter" on the loose... nobody at the field considered him a "suspect" and he was caught red handed, then immediately when caught it became LESS definitive that he shot anyone.
I brought over keychain files from my previous OS and they still use the password from that system when I view those specific files. The MAIN keychain is the same as my login password though.
Sounds like a great security issue tho. I'll add that check to my pen tests.
I'm imagining some poor Tailored Access Org intern who sits in the luggage hold wearing a parka, and a portable oxygen mask crawling over piles of luggage trying to get at some CEOs laptop before the flight ends.
They always tell the luggage handlers to set marked bags aside for mid-flight data exfiltration but they just laugh and put the marked bags at the bottom of the piles.
I know some bug bounty guys are making a good living off these programs. The majority however do not. Not everyone can spend days digging around hoping to get paid for something. It's unsurprising that a country with a much lower cost of living has a lot of guys willing to do this.
technology hubs like Silicon Valley had a "tremendous cultural diversity".
Tremendous cultural diversity = women, gays and asians... and don't forget the eclectic white men! Burning Man attendees, that's another culture right?
Not many blacks + hispanics tho... they must be underrepresented in California.
That's part of why I'm moving over to security instead of continuing as a programmer. The rush to bring in new people means untrained guys writing horrible insecure code daily.
I've spotted other movies with the same basic plot element... humans given god-like powers, but the subconscious ruins everything.
Sphere is one I can remember. The others, I've forgotten... I think watching Legion (TV Series) had me thinking about this again. Everything could be a product of his own mind.
Residential areas are lower speed because they're basically semi-permanent "school zones" with kids running around, riding bikes, chasing balls into the street, etc...
Just last night a 4 year old nearly rode his little pedal car right in my path as I was negotiating between an oncoming car and a garbage can. Good thing I was going slow and saw the kid.
May help prevent row hammer attacks.

Nasty 0days come out every week.

Really by now these should be standard exhibits in questionable shooting cases.
Oh wait they're not being used to show who fired first or how many shots were actually fired?
Interesting. Perhaps these records should be public.
But how will you seize the assets of the rich without the leftists to say it's needed for humanity's sake?
Then it hits something again, you speed up again, repeating until you're moving like O.J. Simpson in the airport.
Selling Android phones keeps mobile sellers fluid in the months before the new iPhone comes out.
They're going to have a rubber banding sales pattern after this.

Happening in front of our very eyes.

I guess the scenario defines the terminology.
You can get what you want with a small change.

With actual improvements in recent desktop CPUs people might see a reason to upgrade again.

You HAVE given us great ideas.
Your country thanks you.

If I doodle am I an artist?
If I put air in my tires am I a mechanic?
If I floss an I a dentist?
If I buy plants am I a horticulturist?
It seems if merely downloading some code makes one a developer... we have a serious respectability problem as a profession.
Tremendous cultural diversity = women, gays and asians... and don't forget the eclectic white men! Burning Man attendees, that's another culture right?

"Commercials!! Everybody run!!"
"It's back on!!"
"He found the gun behind a bush"
So you just spoof 2048 UDP packets every 30s and they can't send a single packet? That IS trivial.
That's part of why I'm moving over to security instead of continuing as a programmer. The rush to bring in new people means untrained guys writing horrible insecure code daily.
SPOILER ALERT:
I've spotted other movies with the same basic plot element... humans given god-like powers, but the subconscious ruins everything.
Sphere is one I can remember. The others, I've forgotten...
I think watching Legion (TV Series) had me thinking about this again. Everything could be a product of his own mind.
I'd love to have a list of these.
You passed up a First Post for THIS??
Oh yeah, ancient used players choice versions of popular Nintendo games selling for $20 gets on my nerves.
