Depends who you are and what your metabolism is. My body is a Sugar factory, yet I'm considered underweight. Irrelevant to your comment and relevant to the article: you guys miss one thing, the Thyroid.

People with Thyroid issues usually have either weight gain or weight loss. And if your Thyroid has been removed, controlling your weight gain is damn near impossible. Since nobody outside of Thyroid problems understands that, it's easy to rationalize your hate and tell people to exercise and stop eating so much. It's not uncommon to gain 100 pounds in one week after a complete removal.

Let's face the facts, we have lots of Radiation in various forms around us now. I have no doubt about it's contributing factor to Metabolism. I'm missing half my Thyroid due to a nodule that grew and decided to take over. Thankfully for me, it wasn't Cancer and even thought I was suppose to gain about 10 pounds; I actually lost 10 -- the Doctors were stumped on that one since it went against their data.

ProTip: Don't let a General Surgeon remove your Thyroid, I ended up with a massive hematoma and damaged Parathyroids. Do yourself a favor and seek attention from a ENT. And make sure you're getting enough Iodine in your diets.

Disclaimer: These are NOT my opinions but the opinions of Doctors I've seen over many years of Thyroid issues that are ongoing.

I'm new to this IPTV thing and after reading quite a bit, I still can't make heads or tails out of it. I currently have DirecTV and enjoy how I can, with one click, browse through the channel listing guide and mark a series to record or a movie etcetera. I'm basically a hermit and have my TV beside my Computer and very much enjoy that I can simply browse the guide and watch one of the movie channels (HBO, Stars etc) with shows back to back without having to be interrupted to click anything. In fact, I don't think I watch anything except the movie channels and the local and live news. Before you ask about an Antenna, I tried that already and we can't get a signal in our area, it's too far away from any big city or tv stations.

My question is as follows to IPTV users here: Does IPTV work the same way, or is it something I will need to be constantly interrupted to click things and wait for buffering and stuff?. That would be too cumbersome to me. If it makes any difference, this household uses Linux on all the computers and it would be appreciated not to recommend any Microsoft product, but don't hold that against me. So what say you?.

You're comparing Desktop CPUs to Phone CPUs. Last time I checked, you can't open 100 tabs in a browser on a Phone or have several 'Windows' and Apps running all over the place. Someone may need to correct me though, I don't own any Phones. However, I can imagine it would be pretty silly looking having several open windows and tons of tabs on a tiny phone screen.

If we ever got to that point, I could see screen sizes getting larger to the point where the phones wouldn't fit in ones pocket anymore. Thus, at what point would we cease calling such a device Mobile. If you want to walk around with a small computer, then lets build one so the Phones can get smaller again and serve their purpose; to make Calls.

For my personal Opinion, AMD gets too much flak. Their multi-core CPUs are awesome and do outstanding multi-threading, especially the Bulldozers. People gave AMD bad reviews because the Software used to benchmark was optimized for Intel (as we saw recently) and wasn't yet optimal for benchmarking that new design. I've always said, if you want good single-threaded performance for a premium, go Intel. If you want great multi-processing at a discounted price, go AMD. And I stand by that. The Intel people here will mod me down, but when the Linux benchmarks were released for Bulldozer, we saw it beating Intel if anyone remembers that.

TL;DR: Desktop CPUs are not the same as Phone CPUs. If you want them to be, better come up with a new type of battery and a new way to dissipate all that heat.

They were slow even with 7. The problem is, that new PC you got 5 years ago can still play Games and browse the web just fine and there's no reason to upgrade. That's where Microsoft's EOL for Windows comes in handy, XP is ending soon and that will force people to finally choose where they want to go after the NSA/8 fiasco.

The only reason to upgrade came from new versions of Windows using more RAM and running slower than previous versions. Also new Games played a part but they don't count anymore, Indie devs are moving in now and most of those Games don't require a high power machine. And people like me whom have already switched to Linux don't need to worry about upgrading. With something like Xubuntu, everything runs fast and snappy even with the latest versions and no 'windows rot' that degrades your machine over time.

So yeah, it's not looking all that great for Microsoft unless they find a new line of business besides Software. And I'd highly recommend they cut ties with the NSA. But they are a very hard-headed company.

Future wise, their core business model has bombed, leaving Microsoft in a river with no paddle. I guess stockholders can relax, seeing that nobody is betting on Microsoft's future; judging from their stock. If they were betting on Microsoft's future, their stock would be pretty grim by now.

Take a step back for a moment, when in the last several years has there been any good news about Microsoft?. Exactly, so what is holding their stock value up?. The news gets worse everyday, to the point where there is a big restructuring going on and everything from Microsoft is going Subscription based. The general idea here is a Company wouldn't do this unless they see a future in which they're strapped for cash. Subscription models lock customers in and keep the money flowing.

I'm willing to bet very soon we will see a version of Windows running on the cloud. You'll have the hardware, but the software is on Azure; and you will pay for it. Over and over again. If the recent outings about MS/NSA aren't enough to make people switch, the Windows Azure won't be either.
