I was thinking about this during my drive to work this morning.

My worry about the shift here will be power companies gouging us on electricity prices and those people who already have a hard time to afford their bill will be left pretty much fucked. Some people choose to just NOT have a car, and it works just fine for their life-style. This move to electric cars will royally screw with a lot of people in the form of much higher power bills.

I don't know the numbers, obviously, but I can't imagine this is going to go down as well as we'd like it to. Cold winter months already ramp up bills in the 4-5, sometimes 6+hundreds of dollars. I clearly remember paying that a couple years ago and I was the only one living in the home at the time, and this was a pretty small house compared to current standards.

Dunno. As much as I want this move to happen, and myself wanting to purchase an electric vehicle; this whole thing worries me in that sense.

They fucking interrogated his 13 year old sister?! I mean the documentation was fucking public; THIS IS HOW THEY CHOOSE TO HANDLE THEIR INCOMPENTENCY?

PM is outright saying he stole sensitive information; 15 officers raided the house.

Atlantic Canada is a pretty quiet place, and there's already enough sketchiness about how the general population feels about our police force; they're really not helping their case. I swear if they (Gov. & police force, RCMP I presume) don't get any repercussions for this I'll be legitimately scared of continuing to live in this country. This is beyond fucking ridiculous. I mean 10 fucking years in prison??

    Yeah; I'm fucking angry, sorry.

    That's a fair point.
Personally I'd rather deal with people face to face when it comes to big loans, like a mortgage for example. There's probably no difference from what you get in the end in both scenarios, but it is simple preference.

I go to my bank once every two weeks to get my cash spending money (cafeteria at work doesn't take anything else and the ATM gouges you), and I've recently got a CC with tap functionality (holy it's convenient...) as it was recommended by the mortgage broker I spoke with so I could build up some credit, as I didn't have much in terms of loans at the time. Plus it gives me a little back, so hey, why not.

Physical branches are dwindling every year though, so surely I'll be forced to adapt sooner than later.

Most banks accomodate at least one day a week (and sometimes Saturdays, oh my gosh!) where they are open during extended hours so their customers with regular jobs don't need to worry.

I can't speak for your country's situation, but in Canada, if your bank doesn't have a similar setup, you're with the wrong institution and should consider switching if this actually poses a problem for you.
