    GStreamer isn't tied to GNOME/GTK. The only thing it uses is GLib.

    There are already at least 2 KDE applications using GStreamer - Juk and Amorak.

    They're not goggles, its a hand held night scope, the sort that you would fit to a rifle. They're fun, but they'll not stop any piracy. I'm pretty sure there's a bittorrent out there already, I know there is for The Day After Tomorrow and that only opened this weekend too.

    I don't think they're trying to stop the widescale pirates, what they're trying to stop is someone taping the film so that they can watch it again at home, without having to either: go back to the cinema, or wait 5 months for the DVD.

    If the WMD only existed in Saddam's mind, then the army officer wouldn't have needed to get his base cleaned up, because there would have been nothing there for the inspectors to find anyway.

    And from what I remember about that phone call, people who know Iraq and the language and culture said that it used so many turns of phrases that Iraqi's wouldn't use that it was probably faked.

    Most of the indie bands make most of their money touring anyways.

    Possibly only because they then end up doing 4 month tours, which is a killer for pretty much anyone. Mogwai have reportedly lost a lot of personal money because of tours which just haven't made enough money, and they would be a fairly major "indie" band.

    Alt-left click moves the window for me in gnome
    alt-middle click lets you resize it
    alt-right click brings up the window menu.

    This is using the metacity that comes with gnome 2.6

    the ctrl-shift-w is listed in the menu beside "Close all parent windows", and the middle click is just the same as a left click, that once informed about, shouldn't be too hard to remember.
