Maybe that is the point. In the real world, things aren't so cut and dried, black and white, and charged with controversy. Windows has problems, Linux has problems, and they exist for different reasons. Maybe we should stop blaming each other and concentrate on how we can make sure that no software has these flaws.

Nice to see a linux hack getting some attention for a change, instead of the usual MS bashing.

It's nice to see that now, since Linux has gone mainstream, all the cool kids have turned from criticising the straw man of mindless Linux promotion to the straw man of mindless Microsoft bashing in order to be the outsider rebels.

Say what you will about the Microsoft anathema, no Linux vendor has promoted the forced inclusion of DRM technology, or, before finding that religion, poo-pooed the importance of security. Through its entire history, Microsoft has given us plenty of justification for criticism. If you don't understand that, then you're as dim as the 'slashbots' to which you feel superior.

He won't win a lawsuit, and he can't drag it out because all it would take is one expert witness to explain Klez. In this new batch, Lucus has underminded the previous films with shit like "midicholorians" and "vigirn births", and the acting is even worse. The stilted dialougue between Anakin and Queen Whatsherface is so bad its like hearing fingernails on a chalkboard! Make it stop!

And whats with the political intrigue so simple a child can follow it? Was that his intention? Perhaps he hopes it will sell more toys, if kids want to reenact the Senate debate.

And the racial stereotyping? Is it some sort of one-upsmanship with Star Trek? I don't know which is more offensive, the Shylock Ferangi or the "ah so" Trade Federation. Oh, oh! Meesa Jamaican retard!

The decision to use Java in the introductory classes had no direct influence from Sun. It was chosen it for the very reasons it is sucessful today: it is a reasonably well designed language, applicable to many problem domains, it is cross platform, free, available on every machine on campus, and a marketable skill for would-be graduates. Only the first applies to the language used previously: Turbo Pascal.

Comparing Tech's incidental use of Java to to U. Waterloo selling out to Microsoft is absurd.
