The most recent Linksys WMP54G (v4.1) uses Ralink's RT61 chipset. I picked mine up from Newegg about five months ago, though I imagine that any retailer that sees a lot of business shouldn't have any of the older models laying about.

A word of warning though: If you're using Edgy you're going to need to download the source for the drivers and build it yourself. The card works fine in Dapper with relatively little work (copy the firmware and configuration file to /etc/Wireless/RT61STA/ and modify the config file), but in Edgy they switched to the rt2x00 drivers which don't function at all for this chipset.

Among other things, the patch should change the permissions of questions.dat to 700. Previously it was 644.

Additionally, this should only happen if you're performing an expert install; the normal installation procedure doesn't seem to have this problem.

The installer maintainer (Colin Watson) has said two things that may (or may not) be of interest:

I don't see how this is happening, because we deliberately db_set those questions to empty after retrieving the password to avoid this problem.

So I guess that didn't work on some install types. The other, which addresses your question about Breezy install CDs:

I've already put that on the agenda for discussion at the next technical board meeting. It'll take until then to come up with a really correct fix that would be suitable for fresh Breezy installer images (as opposed to the security patches which merely undo the damage after it's been caused) anyway.

Why wouldn't Netscape be covered under Firefox? They both use Gecko as their rendering engine the last time I checked.

    From their site:

It was only a matter of time until a mod team took Jack Thompson's disgusting revenge fantasy and made it flesh - and, just as I suggested, it was deemed insufficient.

Thompson now claims that his repellent suggestion was "satire," and we must conclude that his financial offer was also satire, some new breed of satire apparently that I'm sure is just hilarious to people in need.

You know what, Jack? We're going to be the men you're not. You said that your insulting, illusory ten thousand dollars would go to the charity of Paul Eibler's choice. We've got a good guess that he'd direct your nonexistant largesse toward The Entertainment Software Foundation, a body that has raised over six point seven million dollars over the last eight years. We've just made the donation you never would, and never meant to. Ten thousand dollars' worth. And we made it in your name.

I neither know nor care how NS6 works on W2K. Mozilla .7 on Linux takes 25-30M, and I don't think that MSIE with all its DLLs uses less. I still would prefer a better browser, but MSIE isn't noticeably better. NS6 takes up around 75 megs with 6 windows open in W2K, and believe it or not, MSIE only uses 12 megs with 6 windows open. Besides that, Nutscrape 6 takes too long to load and crashes frequently. MSIE doesn't have this problem (at least not for me).
