Good concern, poorly founded. The way that system is set up, the instant the pump powers on is going to be the instant water is moving past the CPU, simply due to the fact it is full.

While it may take a little while for the pump to ramp, the fact that water is moving at all over the processor is enough to insure that it doesn't over heat.

You may notice spikes in temp at startup, but not close to the dangerous levels you're afraid of.

This is important, because it means that the resources required to make the game were in the best place they could be, in the hands of the people making the game. All the super-popular games of that time (even to date, occasionally) came from environments like this.

It's not that the creativity and innovation is gone (look at ICO, Fatal Frame), it's that the resources needed to afford such aren't where they're supposed to be.

I used to get the crap kicked out of me every day (literally) by kids who saw me as a threat due to my intelligence. I stopped this by withdrawing completely from any personal social interaction.

Time eventually came where I "re-introduced" myself to the world. The fact I had been a social recluse for the past 3 years gave me a whole new spin on life once I actively sought one. I wholely believe this is for the better. Having been a social recluse for so long made real social interaction a learning experience for me.

Due to that, I'm now one of the most popular people in my area. This isn't even intentional. More than likely, it is due to the extreme change in environment and need to acclimate myself.

Tough situations are much better learning and cementing tools than people realize. Had I not shut myself off for awhile in my pubescant years, I'd probably just another wasted youth in America's ghetto.

Children aren't meant to handle social situations as well as adults can. Sometimes taking them out of the social situation for a small while is the best thing to do, considering how much they'll actually learn once put back in the situation.

I strongly disagree. Orson Scott Card did not ever have the intention of portraying a world where child abuse is sponsored by the government. It portrays a world focused on one thing: survival of the species. As much as it may be understood as child abuse, that's not the case. Orson Scott Card did a very innovative thing with Ender's Game, he put the survival of our race as a whole in the hands of a good-hearted pre-pubescent with a wit to match any debate team leader out there.

The way I see it, I'd much rather have an officer trained to ensure the survival of his fellows rather than his own. This is exactly what Ender was trained to do (albeit in an extremely subtle yet very blunt matter).

Yes, what Card prosed to be done to Ender was wrong morally. What you need to realize is that it's what needs to be done to ensure the lives of countless more children his age.

After reading the bible myself a couple times out of dogged curiousity, I found some passages that aired disturbingly of our situation today. I swear on my lady's ass that some of those passages are analogies for the creation of the UN. Furthermore I could've sworn Jeremiah predicted World War 2.

Being one who still hates born agains, I think religious fervor skipped this reader. There are still alot of things about the bible that leave me skeptical, but one thing I will vouch for is the eerie similarities between some of the scenarios proposed in the bible and the current situation we find ourselves in (on the brink of WW3, UN losing it's power slowly).

Check it out, even if you're not a fan of religion, knowing the bible well makes a killer advantage on your behalf the next time that overzealous Christian next door starts preaching. Kind of sad one of the Bible's biggest uncertainties is itself ;)
