That, or it trying to kill you!
Bender: *snore* "Kill all humans...Kill all humans...Must kill all hu..." Fry: "Bender, wake up!" Bender: "I was having the most wonderful dream! I think you were in it."
I used to live in Rural Arkansas. Make your jokes now, I'll wait...finished? No? I'll wait...ok. We had a surprising number of cell towers in our area, and on top of almost every hill there was one of those LOS (line of sight) microwave towers. You want to talk about ruining a great view. There's no confusing these bad boys with a Fir.
On the plus side, my old man was one of the beneficiaries of the contracts that helped setup a state wide video network for the higher education institutions in the State
That's kinda like the pot laws in the US. It's legal to own if you have the stamps, but to get the stamps, you have to present the pot....which is illegal since you don't have the stamps. Granted, they only made like 5, and they don't issue them anymore.
Tax they would, because apple will not release control over their hardware. There is no way that they will let other companies manufacture and sell hard drives for the iPod. As such, any separate "iPod" hard drive will easily be identified by said governmental agency and taxed. Historically, anything that can be taxed will be taxed until the people no longer support it. Thus, the number of people purchasing the iPods will greatly diminish in that country until the tax is no longer worthwhile. (But we all know that the gray/black market will feed the demand instead)
The problem lies with the fact that basically they are doubling the cost of ownership. I know a lot of people willing to throw down $300 for an iPod, but very few willing to spend $600.
I'd like to think that this could never happen in the US, but we just passed a law that would send someone to jail for 3 years just for letting out a sneak release. Personally I think a stiff fine and public humiliation would be much more appropriate.
Shameless plug: Why do all that work when you could get one for free?
yes, but when it "freezes up" all particle motion will cease and your processor will collapse on itself, and take your computer and your license agreement with it. Didn't you read the EULA!
> There are such things as aerobatics-capable ultralights....
This all depends on the speed at which the wind is blowing. Ever seen someone try to land an ultra light in a 15 kt crosswind? They can be quite aerobatic.
I remember when the first episode of J.A.G. came on and it was chock full of stock footage ripped straight out of Top Gun.
Hopefully Lucas will be smart enough to do steer widely from the current franchise. A total rehash of his previous works will likely be met with a ground swell of apathy.
I personally would rather get less Star Wars if it meant better quality work. Can the prime time stuff and give me the last three episodes over the next 9 years.
I remember a while ago I heard that the largest data transport method was the US mail, and by a wide margin. Is this still the case? This may open up an entire new world to identity thieves, if it was not already open.
If we can't count on the companies who handle our money to protect our credit, who can we count on?
Human: So what's all the fuss about? ALICE: Far out. Hmm, I think it is about humans. Human: Humans. ALICE: LOL. Human:.tell me more ALICE: That's all I have to say about it. Human: You're quite a skank ALICE: Thanks and you are a delightful person too. Am I a skank? Of course I am.
All the humor goes away when you have to explain it. Or maybe it wasn't that funny to begin with. I was merely making the comparison between normal people, and techies (as the article does..RTFA!)
Average Joe will not be seen sprinting to a newly hung bulliten board, grabbing a tack, slamming it through the cork and yelling "First Post!"
As such, our good friend Joe will be totally at a loss when his counter part Slashdot John does just this. Joe will be at a total loss when John sobs continueously becuase someone beat him out, and what he thought would be a first post was only a lowly 3rd, or much worse, lost in the post fields...
See John See John Get First Post Post John Post
See Joe See Joe Get First Post Big Freakin Deal
I can do this, because I have Karma to burn...so, hit me again Ike, and this time, put some Stank on it!
And then get to see the out dated WSJ articles!

We ripped off the indians. We threw a tea party for the British.

With the other rover on the other side of the planet, it looks like it will be a while before the tow truck gets there.
I bet if you called Marvin, he could help you out of a jam.
Don't they have a tiny shovel that could dig the wheel out of the dirt?
I guess the power company gave up on providing internet access over the power lines...Power over the internet lines is the next best thing!

Plus you have to pay extra for guaranteed delivery, where as you get it free with TCP.

Ahhh Haa! But I ignore your post, and therefor it does not exist!
I was under the impression that Marvin was a Marshin.
Google did something similar to this when Chad rode his bike across the country, and look how well that worked out for them...
> From FTA? From fucking the article? Damn dude, I knew some Slashdot readers were hardup, but you take it to new heights.
that's worse than all the pole smoking jokes above...
I have heard of LSB

Human: So what's all the fuss about?
ALICE: Far out. Hmm, I think it is about humans.
Human: Humans.
ALICE: LOL.

ALICE: Thanks and you are a delightful person too. Am I a skank? Of course I am.
Better luck next time!
It would be better if there were an intelligence restriction on talking.
I know too many people who aren't very bright but try to compensate by being loud.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....pie.....
> I could just as well say that Europeans have nasty tendency to lump people together into groups.
But you wouldn't say that because you know that people who make broad generalizations are idiots
Maybe now I won't get so freaking many AOL CDs in the mail.
Will the paying XM Subscribers have the option to NOT hear the AOL advertisements?
