  1. Coolest Looking game ever on Dragon's Lair Remastered in HD · · Score: 1

Worst actual gameplay ever. It was just a big money waster until you figured out the moves.

I did very much enjoy watching people who had learned all the moves go to the end but I personally thought the gameplay was crap. I was much happier to step across the isle and play Tron. Man would I love to own that cabinet today.

Currently, Google Browser Sync only allows you to be logged in to one browser at a time"

The people would mostly likely use this proably have Firefox on 2 to 3 machines and it is certainly not uncommon to A) leave your computer running with a browser window open and then get on another machine running firefox B) be on firefox on say a laptop while your wife/girlfriend etc is on your main machine(and no they shouldn't all have to have seperate accounts).

I see they are "working" on having multiple accounts but personally this simply won't work for me and many others until then. On the positive side it's nice to have Google developing for Firefox and if the encryption is sound this sounds like a nice feature that maybe one day will become standard on Firefox.

I just don't see the constant prompting as a better alternative, I honestly hope I'm wrong though. It would be nice if MS finally was able to deliver security to the masses. Personally I am partially looking forward to Vista as new tehcnology to play around with. It is coming afterall no matter how good or bad it turns out to be. Let's hope MS turns things around over the next several months and addresses some very valid complaints with the Vista Beta.

  5. Well, MS had to do something on Will Vista Run Your Games? · · Score: 1

Not a single respectable source or group is high on everyone moving to Vista. For now it is a solution in search of a problem. XP is "good enough", runs very well on 5 year old hardware, and is also pretty affordable.

Vista has high hardware requirements and even needs a GPU upgrade for DX10. It just isn't looking very compelling right now. I've been around the block a few times with MS and OS upgrades starting with Win 3.1. There are always people saying "what does X offer over what we are already running?". That just happens no matter what, but even with that being said MS better pull a rabbit out its ass in order to get Vista where is needs to be. It's just not not there yet and they are running out of time to fix the bugs and get it polished. I'd rather they wait till next summer instead of coming out with another Windows ME.

  6. Simple, money. on New Enterprise-Level Ubuntu Due This Week · · Score: 1

While it's great and all that a bunch of money was dumped into Ubuntu to get it started long term they need a business plan. The way to do that is to sell support. Supporting Linux Desktop users will never be a viable support model. But on the other hand Enterprises tend to like to buy support contracts. If you don't have a stable OS that has support for years then you certainly are not going to attract businesses.

"I thought the whole point of ubuntu was to get a fairly package-stable version of debian that was up-to-date so funky new desktop apps would have a nice home to live in."

That was never the point of Ubuntu. The point of it like everything else was to eventually make money. Anyone who tells you otherwise has blinders on.

This whole DX10 being Vista only is BS. They are royally screwing over XP users and especially anyone who has bought a new GPU recently. Developers can't be happy with MS for pulling a stunt like this. Must be nice to always have that monopoly to fall back on when you need to force unwanted changes down people's throats.

If by set you mean using only half of what Outlook offers I guess we agree. If everyone was quite "set" by using ANY mail server with Outlook why the heck do you think the OSS community has been going nuts for over 6 years trying to make a real exchange alternative?

The grandparent is right. Bottom line is Outlook leads to Exchange, Windows 2003, AD, and a lot of other stuff. Your flat out lying if you say otherwise. It may not "require" it out of the box but that is where installs ends up going many times. Anyone whose been in IT for a few years and works with Microsoft products will back me up. Mind you I'm not even saying this is a bad thing, its just the way it is.

So I'm starting to move myself and everyone I know to a new product which by all most reviews does a fanatastic job. For advanced users AVG still might work ok, especially when you consider its low impact on system resources. But for average users I simply can't recommend it anymore.
