The Dominant 7th is even more vital to Barbershop music than it is to Jazz. It's even called the "Barbershop 7th". After 4 years of singing this stuff 3 to 6 hours a week it doesn't sound dissonant to me.
Now a half diminished chord.. well that's really dissonant (in a nice emotive way)
Not sure what would happen with these low-power flashes, but have you every tried putting something over a moderately high power photo flash ?
Let's just say it involves smoke.
I was trying to diffuse a flash once and got a tissue paper too close to the flash. It popped a hole right through it, burnt brown around the edges. Now something like black tape would probably absorb a lot more energy. It could be interesting to watch. From a few feet away.
Our local cable office used to edit the community notice board (on an Amiga/Videotoaster thingy) on Saturday mornings with the video going out live to the whole town.
It was pretty comical since he was a really lousy speller.
Can you imagine knowing about this problem, putting it into production and not riding your MS rep like a pony until it was verified fixed ?...with any other vendor.. sheesh.. but I guess it doesn't work that way with MS - even for the FAA.
Try putting one of these between the digital out of your computer/cd player/what-have-you and your amplification system. Aha!
And yes, I'm a tube guy when it comes to instrument amps. My crackling, hissing 1961 blackface Fender Showman-Amp makes any speaker sound like a whole 'nother ball game. No master volume on this so it won't distort without making your ears bleed.
North Korean foreign ministry officials have told British and Chinese diplomats that the explosion was the demolition of a mountain to make way for a hydro-electric plant.
A day's drive ? Wow. I put that much milage on my car before lunch, and I keep it pretty local. When I was commuting I drove over 100 miles a day, and that was a pretty easy commute.
And if you need a microsoft-tax-free 'puter, try tigerdirect or something. At least you know what parts are in it that way.
Uh.. the main reason for electric fans is transverse engines. You'd have to have some expensive power-wasting gear drive to turn the power 90 degrees otherwise.
I read The Giver and really liked it. Sort of a weak ending, though.
I read Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn when I was about 9, and the S.E. Hinton books in school in 8th grade.
Where's Waldo ? That's pretty ridiculous.
Flowers for Algernon is an incredible story. I think I read it first in High School but I read it again a few years ago and it was still very affecting.
The Earth's Children series might not be appropriate for middle-school kids, with it's neolithic sex scenes and all. Poor beaten-up Ayla has her first orgasm.. Oooh baby.
I don't think I'd want to have Daddy's Roommate or The New Joy of Gay Sex in a school library, but one could argue that the other sex manuals would be ok for High School age kids.
A few weeks ago they removed the ability to export from the address book as VCards. Without any warning or explanation.
It was pretty cool too. I found this feature and banged in about a hundred contacts on the old OS-9 iMac at work that has no decent contact manager. Now I can't export these contacts in VCF format, which pissed me off quite a bit.
I can't even find a a way to complain about it !
Does any know off hand if gmail can export contacts as VCards ? (and if the contact manager is any good yet)
Are all the Christmas songs they analyzed ambient beat-free mush ? It might be nice to listen to when your nerves need calming.
But don't most Christmas songs have a beat and a melody? They aren't getting that back out of their statistical approach.
And another vote for the David Cope stuff.. well worth a listen !

It's called "spot color". Using Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black ink (or some other combination) to make up other shades is called "process color".
To me it looks more like something Stu Pickles would do to his Citroen. But zero to 100 in 7 sec ? Yow!

Now if only some kind soul would build it for Mac OS 9... I could use it at work too.
Individually wrapped cheese slices is usually marked "cheese food" as opposed to "cheese" because it's mostly vegetable oil. Check your packages.
Yuck. I don't use the stuff.

Will it come in any color other than John Deere Green?
Fwiw, these things are still used here and there in the U.S. esp. at golf courses to neatly mow swales (curvy bumps around the greens).
My brother was a landscaper and at least one of his competitors had a Flymo. They were sort of a joke but very effective for some situations.
...thought that was shooting a little high for Bourne Shell...

Is that 64 bytes or 64 factorial ?

They were doing this in the Wallace Planetarium in Fitchburg, MA a few years back. Don't know if it ever caught on.
can be very nice indeed when you're getting in and out of the car every 5-10 minutes all day in -5F weather

Bridge to Terabithia and The Giver.

I've lost 50 pounds and lowered my total cholesterol 30 points while raising my HDL 15 points ... eating bacon & eggs.
"what he said" on the rest of it
add MS Access to the list...

Where on earth did you find the address for Yahoo tech support?
Yup. Is anyone even *trying* to go head to head with Access ? On any OS platform?
