    but SPEWS is based on colatteral damage,
    It's supposed to force the ISPs to enforce better spam policies.
    from what I've seen delisting is actually pretty rapid, tho.
    anyway, don't use SPEWS if you don't want to, nobody's forcing you to.

    How about a memory remapping chip?
    ie, does an in place memory patch, or remaps some ranges to itself when placed in front of original chip.
    this way the chip won't have any original BIOS code on it and still be effective.

    I personally suggest THC's secure_delete toolkit, which works very nicely for me.
    it uses Peter Guttman's deletion algorithm and happilly scrubs file, free block, swap and memory

    They could do something worse then block the website, they could just redirect it to their own server, supplying a trojan
