Except they didn't give him a chance to leave on his own. The organizers cut his mike and then boom he has goons trying to pick him up and carry him off. Constantly he says that he will leave just let him leave but they never once give him a chance. It goes from force to piling on with numerous rent-a-cops to taser. This kid needs to get a lawyer and defend his rights which were clearly violated.
What is the point of a Q/A session with a politician if the only questions allowed are just like everything else that they answer? That is not called a debate, thats a press conference. No wonder people don't vote and are totally fed up with all our officials.
How is this inflated? A paying account is a paying account no matter if it is owned by the same person or not. I don't think they mean the number of people playing but instead the number of subscribers.
Wake me when they actually enable the esata port and allow multiroom oh and when multistream cable cards are actually available. Until then this (like all other tivo products) are useless to digital cabletv subscribers.
They are already using switched cable in austin. And it is extremely buggy with dvr's. AT&T Uverse is coming to austin soon so that should open up the competition.
This is not the cooler CPU, and there is no info that the drive is quieter. You'll soon realize how small 120GB is also, its not as big as you think when dealing with HD movies and shows.
"IMPORTANT: Please do not patch your Direct2Drive game with patches not offered by Direct2Drive. They are not compatible unless stated otherwise."
I don't know how fast Direct2Drive releases their patches that work with the d/l versions but you can't just go an d/l the patch from the company that made the game or from the hundreds of mirror sites out there.
Who is to say your idea of "informed" is any different than someone else's idea of "informed". I say vote for whoever you want to for whatever reason you want to. After all no matter what your reason its important to you. Whether you agree with the candidates beliefs or you just don't like their hair color. It really doesn't matter in the end. What matters most is that you had an opinion on something and voted how you wanted to.
Anyone who says "if you don't know anything don't vote" is an idiot and at the end of the day is just trying to force their opinions down your throat. They are better off just telling the truth and saying "if you don't vote the same way I do you are better off not voting."
Which you can't update with official patches until Direct2Drive puts out their own version of the patch. Steam is directly connected to the publisher which just pushes the patches out to the system to update automatically.
The problem with saying it should be used only for education is that the students aren't just going to college to learn. They LIVE there. It is their home for 4-5 or more years. You can't expect a student to spend those years doing nothing but studies. The IT departments want to run it like a company, but it isn't. It is basically a small town.
Except in the real world when someone "cheats" in something they are physically competing in they don't have to just take one step forward and instantly be in the end zone. There is no instant score or instant homerun button.
In this case I think it would be pretty easy to calculate lost sales. Every sale that this guy made was a lost sale. Completely different from just giving it away (or downloading it) for free.
As others have said its not piracy thats killing it its the quality of the games and the stability. How about one example. Titan Quest. The game really is a lot of fun and I thought about buying it, but I don't play it anymore. Why? Because the pos crashes constantly. Now I can't even get into the game and I've only played up to where the demo ended. They have released 2 patches and none of the crashing has been fixed. Why should I spend $50+ for a game that I wouldn't be able to play, was rushed out, and the developers are slow to fix? Stores don't let you return opened software anymore so I sure as hell am not going to buy a game that everyone is reporting as crashing like crazy and completely unstable.
The second reason pc games aren't doing as well is the hoops publishers make legit owners jump through in order to play the game. No software that they don't approve of can be installed. This includes virtual drive software. The copy protection interfers more than it protects so users just say screw it and download a crack or don't buy it at all.
How about quality? If I spend $50+ on a game it sure better last me for more than a weekends worth of play. How about making games instead of engine technology demos (*cough* Id *cough*).
Its a sad state of affairs when you look around at all the games out now and say that there are none that I want to buy or play because they are either crappy games or beta software stability-wise.
This guy should be more concerned about fixing his game that they rushed out. Because its a buggy pos. They released a patch but didn't fix any of the major crashing problems that so many folks are encountering. The game is a lot of fun, but it crashes constantly.
WoW was fun for a year and then everything you hate about it overcomes everything you love about it.
Don't rely on the gov't to come bailing you out. They have more important things to worry about. If there is a disaster in your area you better be prepared to fend for yourself for as long as it takes to get services back up and running.
Oh and if you get flooded out and move to another state to suck off the FEMA free money gravy train, when the train stops, and you haven't gotten off your ass to get a job, don't go crying to the press that you need more time and can't find work.
Thats what I was thinking. Why would a network care as long as their shows are being watched and ad revenue isn't down. The companies pay the network to run the ads during certain shows. So whether people ff through them or not shouldn't be relevent.
I served on a jury once, a DWI case. Watched the tape of the officer numerous times and he was professional and a "nice guy." But in court he was a big asshole. Almost blew the case because he was such a jerk.
Like I said. Your responses speak loud and clear about what kind of employee you were/are. But if you are satisfied working retail for best buy then good for you. Enjoy your employee discount, your time clock, and your spiffy uniform.
And billy who is the next door neighbor or family member will charge $0, get it fixed in half the time, and not try to upsell. All those stores are crap for buying any type of complete PC.
You must have been a really good HP tech/employee to not be able to get a comparable job after losing yours. Says a lot about what the quality of work you are capable of doing. No wonder you are working at Best Buy.

Except that the LG player is not completely HD-DVD compatible. It is Blue-Ray compatible though. Its not really a universal player.
Hmmm...they are up to nvforce 6 motherboards and you are complaining about them not supporting something 4 revs old?
Ummmm, ok. Its called progress, either keep up or get left behind.

And how would you intend to do that since the normal 360 doesn't have an HDMI port and the firmware probably can't support a 300GB HD?

I just don't buy DS games anymore that REQUIRE the use of the touch screen for controls. It's too frustrating.
Except in the real world when someone "cheats" in something they are physically competing in they don't have to just take one step forward and instantly be in the end zone. There is no instant score or instant homerun button.
Yet you are a self proclaimed "foaming-at-the-mouth Nintendo fanboy"
But still a 100% valid argument.

I remember the power adaptor thing, they issued a recall and replaced the adaptors.
Did your friend also happen to work for the company that sold 3rd party warranties?
