  1. Re:Uni Connections on BitTorrent Gains Corporate Support · · Score: 1

Just because you have all the cool, fast and latest hardware doesn't mean you don't have to still pay for all the bits that flows through that hardware. The latest hardware not only gives you more possible bandwidth but you can squeeze many more connections within that pipe. If you were running an ISP or university would you rather have 1 person with 50 connections eating up all your bandwidth or 100 people with a few connections each using up the same bandwidth?

You can block web ads easier than spam. The majority of web ads all come from the same places. Using any good browser you can block via site. You never download it unlike spam filters in which you have to download it just to see what it is. With the web site you only have to grab the page source and the parser then determines what images it will download.

Also web ads are usually for actual products or services unlike spam which, for the most part, is nothing but one con after another.

I'd say reliability of ones high speed internet connection is the major problem. With a normal phone you know its always going to work. Whens the last time you've had a phone problem with the line coming into your house. You can even use the phone when the power is out. But with voip, power outage or your provider going down takes out your phone too. Until they get reliability up on par with a normal phone line I'm staying away from it.

The reason for my reply was because everytime there is a topic about tv or tv shows there is always someone who feels it is the duty to chime in and proudly proclaim that they don't watch tv. Every single time. You see the point is no one cares that you don't watch tv. And yet you non-tv people seem to always post that they "don't watch tv and haven't for many years" in all the tv threads. Now why is that? Why would non-tv watchers seem to think that anyone cares if they don't watch tv? Why do they think they need to state that fact? Makes you wonder who has the real problem and is searching for some kind of justification or something.

"Look at some DVDs. You already can't skip some commercials on those"

Actually when the studios first started putting trailers and stuff before the movies on dvd's they fixed it so you couldn't get around them. Especially the warning pages. But every new dvd I've rented over the past few months has allowed me to hit chapter forward to skip past them. Even the FBI warnings. It shows up but chapter forward decreases the time you have to sit there watching. You still can't just hit menu sometimes to jump past the trailers but you can skip them. Obviously not ideal but better than it used to be.

Making assumptions on how well a show would do before it is even on film yet? If that were the case the amount of shows on tv would be so low we'd be watching test bars.

Lost in Space wasn't a complete failure. Yeah many people hated it but it made 70 million domestic 66 international. And I know for a fact when it came out on dvd it was a top seller.

I don't think Angel should have been cancelled but I also don't think anything will be able to bring it back. Shows come and go. They can't stay around forever. I'd prefer Angel to go out after a good season instead of trying to crank out another one that may or may not be any good.
