MOST people in the world have no business using computers. That AOL exists is proof of that. Ya know, you're right. How about this? Those of us who know how to use computers can prove it with educational qualifications, or passing a standardized test. This entitles use to legitimately purchase a computer. The rest of the world can use Web TV, or something similar.:-P
True, and note that Macs come factory fresh with the latest patches installed. I checked a friend's new machine, and found that it was patched to 10.2.8 (the latest version at the time).
Unfortunately, this looks like it will be as bad as The Bicentennial Man adaptation that was made a few years ago with Robin Williams. The best movie that will never get made is Harlan Ellison's I, Robot. Get the book, read the script. It's the greatest movie you'll never see.
Check out this: a working paper model of a V-8 engine And there's a DIY kit, but it's not available at the moment. Really, there's a paper model of just about anything available somewhere.
The SF Paper Craft Gallery also has models of the drones from Silent Running. I built my own about (gasp!) 25 years ago. And only threw them out recently. *sigh*
I don't see anything in your logic that says it couldn't be a combination of one from column 'A' and one from column 'B'. I would personally go with 1 particularly stupid monkey and 1 sucker paid by SCO.
I've searched a few online game vendors, including EBGames, Best Buy, and Amazon, and none of them have Xenogears. If it's in stores today, where do I get it?
Seriously, what happened to that stupid lawsuit those idiot parents were trying to bring against the schoolboard?
And why isn't the Texas schoolboard worried about it?
(And I'll bet every single one of those moronic soccer moms spoke to their lawyer on a cordless phone that has 100 times the power of a wifi set.)
There were enough companies stupid enough when that damn BSA audit was going on. I know, I worked for one. Our lawyer was more than happy to negotiate a price for the 'illegal' copies of Microsoft software we had, he just wasn't bright enough to tell the PHBs that the BSA had no grounds in the first place.
Microsoft was not being generous, Microsoft was merely being practical.
i.e. greedy

For crying out loud, the whole point of this article is that PCs don't come patched! In most cases, they don't even have the service packs applied.

Nope, not true. Ellison took the original short stories and tied them together with a strong story thread. The original stories survive intact.

Too right!
Can you imagine how much memory it would leak if Microsoft wrote it?
Spooks? Is that what A&E calls M.I. 5?

Great! Thanks a lot!

In five years Valenti will be dead, or in a home. He's the least of our worries.
Bah. Chemistry is just a sub-set of physics.

Word is on OS X, Entourage replaces Outlook, and it looks like Finale is shipping RSN for the Mac. What else does your Mom need?
Remote admin for OS X is nice, but I'll bet the new Mac won't go loopy as much as her Windows system does.
From what I've seen lately of viruses, spyware, and system stability of Windows machines, I think a migration would be best for the both of you.
Great, just great. Now, how the heck are you ever going to prove this in court?
And the radiation hazard from wifi?

Those eps start airing on Space Channel in Canada in a week or two. Even at its lamest, Space kicks SciFi channel's ass.
Windows 2000 - took 3 service packs to get it working.
Internet Exploder - Slow, poor CSS, no pop-up or ad blocking years after the others had them, proprietary extensions.
Office - Oh please. Where should I start, the code bloat, the crashes, or the breeding ground for viruses?
Hardware - actually not bad, except Microsoft didn't design them!
PocketPCs - overpriced, underpowered, crap battery life.
If you're going to be a Microsoft shill, could you be a little more subtle?
True enough. And you know, I don't think I've ever seen it crash.
Penny-Arcade also likes the fruit fucker. I'd prefer a more credible source.
Um, it's Microsoft. When was the last time they produced something that wasn't second-rate?
Do I get to say it?
"I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords."
Thanks for the straight line!
