First, as someone already said, there WILL be a sequel to The Longest Journey. It was recently announced.
Second, please DO try GK3. You'll get used to the graphics in a couple of minutes, and you'll love the camera freedom. And the story itself... believe me, it's probably the best of the 3.
I seem to recall a time (in the 90s) when the bad guys' argument was that "evil mutant" had became just a "human" term for mutants who didn't suck up to humans, or something, and therefore they were proud of being called that.
And all incarnations of the Brotherhood surely HAD the word "Evil".
I admit that in the movie, to a non-comic reader, it might have sounded a bit ridiculous. "Did they say EVIL mutants!??!"
It *had* true multitasking / multithreading, and was a lot more stable than any Windows.
Ok, it doesn't really compare to a free Unix like Linux or a BSD, but as proprietary OSes go, it was one of the best.
It died because of IBM's stupid marketing, and because they shipped their own machines with Windows by default (another mistake of yours, they NEVER "shipped all their machines with OS/2"), and people had to specifically ask for OS/2 if they wanted it.
It did NOT die because of any technical deficiencies (if an OS could die because of that, MS would be bankrupt by now...)
Although I prefer BSD, you, boy, are nothing but a rude moron.
And it's obvious you've never used either BSD or Linux. Hell, you're probably using Windows Millennium, and think the Control Panel is "too complicated"... when something goes wrong, you just reinstall WinMe.
I still can't understand why people are so religious about using only one platform.
These days I play games only on the PC, but years ago I bought a PSX, at about the same time Final Fantasy 7 came out. Bought that game (and loved it), bought a lot of "party" games, played it a lot with my friends, then gave it to my younger brother.
And I had a lot of fun with it.
I'm thinking of buying an X-Box until the end of the year. Doubles as a second DVD player, has fighting games (which I miss on the PC), and will have games like Molyneux's Project Ego and now Starcraft: Ghost (I actually predicted that name yesterday, during the countdown... but nobody will ever believe me.:) ).
Anyway, a console is not so expensive. It doesn't have to REPLACE the PC, it's just a way to have more choices. And you can play much more "sociable" (or "party") games in a console... Get some friends, a big couch and some dozen beers, and...:)
Jeff Minter rules! Gridrunner++ is one of the best shoot 'em ups EVER, and Hovver Bovver 2 is possibly as humorous as a game can get. :)
:)
Unity - reason enough to buy a GC. I don't have one, but I will get one because of that game.
Sorry if I sound like an overenthusiastic fanboy, but when the Yak is concerned...
Sorry, but... if I wanted a radio (which I don't), I'd buy a radio, not a Palm or a cell phone.
That's like saying you need crime so cops have a job... :(
Uh, all QFGs had combat in real time. I agree that 5's wasn't as good as some of the others, though.
Space shooters, dead?
:)

You forgot the "Turbo" and the "Plus". The "Turbo", at least, is essential here, if you want to follow the Japanese. :)
So, you'd rather have them break the law?

I'm not "most people".
You obviously don't know OS/2.

Most Windows users don't know how to install and administer it either.
In most companies, every NT / 2000 / XP desktop is installed by the sysadmin, and the user doesn't have administrator access.
Bah. Phones are for sending and receiving SMSs. The voice function is just an unnecessary, rarely used extra.
You are an Anonymous Coward. Nothing you say matters.

Great Iced Earth song, too. :)
You just don't like games.
Some of us *do*.
And YOU obviouly know pf, right?
Hell, I doubt you even know netfilter...

Hah!
309592!
It's LuthOr. Not LuthEr.
Agreed. I'm Portuguese too. XFree86 had that mistake in xf86cfg for years. :(
I can't even predict what good things we'd see come out of an OS based in Linux technology but with the flexibility of a BSD license.
That's a bit absurd... why not simply use FreeBSD?
Mod this up... please.
Try Trillian.
