What this means is there will be a way for solo developers of shareware to be able to put stuff into the marketplace and actually see a return, instead of seeing only 1 in 10000 users actually pay their shareware fee....about 10 years too late for me.
50-60 years ago there were electric milk delivery vans, there have been electric trains and buses for over a century, just because it's battery powered doesn't make it exciting.
my guess is a similar ruling that allows Region-free DVD players into Australia, the line between making it work ie enabling functionality, and breaking copyright 'protection' systems.
for most daya to day urban running it'll be electric. For long trips it'll be hybrid, so watt is all of the fuss about? The USA has such low oil prices it's lucky to see hybrids at all. I have an old Prius for gadget value, using EV mode to stealth around car parks etc. Still get worried when the motor stops at traffic lights etc. I would like to add the engine stop feature to my 'normal' car.
although not in the same technical league, telescopes, binoculars and air=band radio receivers could also be labelled as 'aids to terrorists', as is google maps and a hundred other items.
so someone doesn't support a media format, how strange, flash is nice, but it ain't the end of the world. And yet there seems to be no issue with other people not supporting Apple compression schemes, which is native to the largest selling brand of personal media players. And no, I don't have an iPad, and yes I use 3 different OS's on a daily basis, not an Apple fanboy.
If it was a wallet that was 'found' and they opened it and splashed the contents over the web, they would get the same reaction from it's owner as Apple has done over the phone. They have no defence, sorry.
One kids Bribe is another kids Reward. What makes it a Bribe? and Not a Reward? There is always a Bribe/Reward, 'do well this term and we'll visit some theme park', 'these grades are great, let's get fast-food tonight', 'can't you work harder in class? no TV for a week'.
head out the sand time, it's the same connector as the cheap and nasty cord that came with my External HD case, so I can use that, or I can use the same cord that came with my laptop. $30 for a 6ft cord, yep it's a bit much, but I don't have to buy one from Apple. Like I don't have to buy DRM content, I can fill an iPad with mp3s and PDFs. Selling a few of my current computers and buying something that suits my changing lifestyle, more mobile.
don't you hate the phrase 'design concept', almost as much as people who believe that they will look like the production version, if they ever get to production.
yep, it's the way of things, not just Apple, but all Computers (almost) there are some open source Game Pads and Linux-on-a-stick, but not the same as hacking Photoshop 2 with ReEdit, or building the little mods that did simple things like flashed an LED so that you know that the computer isn't stuck in loop, sigh. I blame large scale integration more than locked software, but that's what stopped me.
Over the next year we are going to see a number of iPad alternatives, and that's a good thing, as long as we don't start seeing the term 'iPad-killer', which is a sign that the iPad has won. I see that the iPad-like devices will tap into the market that wants to sit on a lounge and twitter or check facebook or youtube, they don't care about the OS, they do care about how it looks.
It's my choice to buy or not to buy the iPad (a ladies monthly thing?) so I understand the constraints placed on it. MY CHOICE, and consumers will make or break it. There are always restrictions on software, it may be minor, or major, like having an SDK that only the rich and famous can obtain, but times change and so does technology. If nothing else, we SHOULD see a pile of Linux based competitors, but I doubt it, MS will see to that, and introduce a lame, Win based clone.
My guess is that the pot is filtering out other sources of RF noise and so the link data speed can increase. His graph does not show RF gain, only data speed, so it's a bit hard to tell what is actually going on.
all of our lights should be gas powered with mechanical shutters to change which lamp is visible. And we could have a small booth with each intersection that housed a person to operate the signals, giving them employment and shelter in winter. As for the LED lights, a bit of research would have helped, it's not as if the entire world suddenly woke up to find LEDs instead of incandescent globe, offs!
baud to bps included the stop bits etc, modems simply changed freqs to match the 1's and 0's. I think there is still an acoustic coupled modem in my cupboard, next to my IBM XT. The big shift was from FSK to QAM, then the bps really started to climb.
nothing made me happier than at 6 am, after an all night repair job, a manager turns up with toasted sandwiches and hot coffee. Don't get in their way but certainly handle the pizza and coffee. Maybe a good time for informal chats, without an office full of people, get some of your own work done, and at the end you do all of the locking up etc, while they go home.
I had the same problem, but before buying my next inkjet, I found out which B/W cart were best value, then bought a printer that used them. In the end I switched to Laser for general printing as the ink does not evaporate when not in use, and a photo printer for..., But the photo printer is more expensive than just going to a shop and getting them printed there.
Overpaid - in the original contract it stated that I was paid above normal rates to cover recalls. They had to understand that I can eat an drink and do what I want outside normal hours, but it they can contact me, then I'm theirs, free. Restricted - must respond with 30 minutes, must be contactable, must be sober, but paid at a small hourly rate for doing so, and then paid normal/overtime rates when I respond to a call. Recall - go and live my life but respond to a recall if they can contact me, paid normal rates/overtime if I am recalled.
wake me up when something from MS appear on the shelf. I use non apple mice all of the time, but running an article that compares a real mass produced mouse against a series of design exercises is a bit silly, verging on dishonest.
I bough a dead iPhone and when I opened the box I was overcome by the smell of tobacco. The entire device was yellow, and when I tried to wash the boards in some mentholated spirits, it turned the spirits yellow too. I couldn't have it in the house, it stank so much. The tar ended up all over my finger tips as well. If I was a repairman, I'd ask to have it cleaned before returning it for service.

why does a Air Force poster have a gmail contact email address?
you expect a company that has no regard for an EULA to keep it's own word and support their own users? good luck with that. I hope that they return...
