just fyi, apache is released under the apache license:-) http://httpd.apache.org/docs/LICENSE whether or not it's bsd-like is stupid, it's either bsd licensed or it isn't and... it isn't.
if the linux drivers are solid+accelerated, i will indeed vote with my money. but i haven't heard anything good or bad about ATI's linux support. i *KNOW* that nvidia's drivers kick ass (provided you know wtf you're doing) someone ease my ph33rs here and let a lunix0r know how ATI's linux drivers are.
yes, but then it's already done for me. since there's no official "GE Toaster" port, i get to write it myself, and still have the ownij GNU userland! but it still won't be official, just a port to "GE Toasters":/
yes, unfortunately i can't take fbsd places where linux goes with reckless abandon. what if i want to hax on a Hitachi SuperH ? learning fbsd is useless to me. how about if i want to target a toaster? can't run fbsd on that either! being a computer science type i'm not really interested in computers per se but "computing in general" which linux is proving to be a great OS for... in general.
you cannot make such conclusions on a sample of one. it's been proven other wise in production use. post your code and we'll try to add to your samples.
i emailed them suggesting they release codecs or a player for l00nix. maybe if we all keep bothering them about it they'll do it just to get us off their backs!
that is left as an exercise to the reader. but if you don't know any better ( which you obviously don't )
finely-tuned ANSI C ( not using any assembler )is not as fast as finely-tuned assembler code on the same processor... in most cases. if it is, you got lucky and should thank the guy(s) who wrote your compiler. looking at the ports available for FreeBSD i'm gonna have to say they did some things to hurt the portability ( assembly somewhere? ) yet give it some speed advantages. blah blah blah whatever
because Linux isn't an OS. the GNU system with Linux as the kernel isn't entirely controlled by a single entity, which is microsoft's advantage here. plus microsoft can afford to have it tested.
haha! it's so obvious that you've never *EVER* played on battle.net(TM). why would anyone want an alternative?
1) begging newbies "YOU GIVE ITAM" 2) asshole player killers "pK-zoN-MastEr has expressed hostility towards you" 3) fuckin' idiots "hi, wait, what did you do? how do i accept it? omfg i can't switch skills" 4) hackers who fuck up the economy
i'll bet you think those are good things. unfortunately i like private realms. where the good players are found and invited to play on these private realms. good realms. battle.net(TM) will never be mistaken for a good realm where good players play.
heh, that's funny. bnetd is not a way to hate blizzard and still play their games. we used bnetd before blizzard sued, only now we do hate them, why should we suffer for their poor copy protection? anyways we own the damn game and we're gonna play it anyway we see fit. and stop assuming people using it are doing so illegally, i own sc, wc2, wc2:bne, TWO COPIES of both d2 and the expansion (so i can legitimately transfer stuff between chars). it's just annoying that people assume it's only being used by thieves.
the man who says something can't be done shouldn't interrupt the man who is doing it.
two lines? last i checked it was just "emerge sync"
also the updating "world" and "system" along with --deep and --pretend opts are pretty kewl.
a cleverly written bash script will do it. :-/
ms has turned you into an uncreative person, sue them!
connections go much better when you aren't using ALL of your upload. try to set the max upload to -10KB/s of you max like...
./btdownloadcurses.py --max_upload_rate 40 --url http://the.redhatisos.com/rh9.torrent
so with my 50KB/s max upload
$ screen
and everything is so much nicer. i don't know how to do the same on windows(tm) so... die!

the error is mentioning Windows(TM) XP Home Edition, it's crap :-)

maybe Microsoft made the hardware?
because linux is free! not free as in bsd license! free as in Freedom!

>EMACS superior wo WHAT ?
:-)
every other text editor IN THE WORLD! (but definitely moreso than notepad/write)
also, can you write a math book in MS Office? probably not
sparc is open :/
www.sparc.org
kinda, then anyone could then take the BSD-licensed stuff and make something keet with it and be like
OVERPRICED PRODUCT v1.0
THX SUN c/o OBSD
the Not-Sun Corp.

can't linux run on a wristwatch or a cellphone? what makes you think it can't be ported to a sega? ARE YOU DAFT!

zBoD assumes all windows users use explorer as their shell :)
there is none, more bang for the buck :>
sponsored by mandrake? smells like professional work to me. :>
oh, i'm sorry, bnetd is used *ONLY* to play war3 silly me, i'll go back to playing diablo2 on battle.net(TM)
