that doesn't seem to figure. images from abu ghraib have been hitting the news stands the world over again with the election and various foreign papers extoling the failures of the administration, as well as continually published as domestic papers revisit the issue for non-partisan reexamination. these papers are indexed by google news - where are the images?
hmm, google seems to be pretty good at determining what you were searching for even if you spell it incorrectly (and sometimes by a wild margin). i wonder if they would simply not need to correct the mistakes made by off-the-shelf OCR software for the purpose of indexing. Project Gutenberg exists so that people can read full texts and so a good amount of accuracy is important, it doesn't seem like that's Google's intention here.
i have an eMachines m6805 laptop which runs a mobile athlon 64 3000+. what do you want to know? it's a great little processor, i must say. buildworld on freebsd 5.2.1 takes about 15-20 minutes with -j4, and would likely be faster if the harddrive wasn't slow.
actually, according to Rasmussen, both parties' members seem to follow their leader without the need for idiological agreement.
(and yes, considering Rasmussen has been accused of late for having a left-leaning bias [i disagree], the big W Ketchup [which you'd think is intended to be ironic, but they really are a right-wing group] is amusing to say the least)
i think you're a bit off on the charitable work part yourself - or at least a bit too cynical. Gates has been giving away money since he got it to a laundry list of charitable causes, including his own. that his contributions have grown since the antitrust battle began is of little consequence - the wealth from which this charity comes has grown with it. last year he and his wife gave away more than half of their entire net worth; just over 23 billion dollars went to charity. last month, he gave away the entirety of his $3 billion share of the $75 billion shareholder payout.
i think there's a point where you have to really look past the cynical fog and think, you know, he probably could have stopped at a couple billion if he just wanted the brownie points.
but i still have to uninstall before upgrading on many of the machines here, and it's ridiculous now to call this a 1.0PR with that problem still around.
also, from the release notes:
It should not be necessary to create a new profile when you upgrade from a previous version of Firefox providing you do disable all extensions from the prior version before upgrading. To do this, open the old version and open Tools > Options and click the Extensions panel. Click on each of the extensions listed and choose Disable Extension. Click OK to close the Options window. Now it is safe to install Firefox.
if you know this is the case, mister firefox, why the hell does your installer not do it for me?
you want mass adoption, but you continue with this mickey mouse crap of not being able to handle upgrades in any sort of efficient manor. i'm sorry, but you won't see mass adoption like that, and i'm afraid you've already gained the reputation.
i had a professor once who told me you could check all sorts of things to determine if certain suspicious spikes in various measurements were the result of human activity (nuclear bombs) or natural occurances, but natural activity doesn't tend to happen on-the-hour:)
if you want to talk about art, let's talk about JSG Boggs. this man DRAWS the notes BY HAND, and has been doing it since 1984. his art is not only his physical artistic ability in recreating the bills in great detail (with his little added puns), but in creating social networks around the passing of his bills. he tells people they're not real bills and gives them the choice of accepting his art in return for goods and services, or to accept real money.
there's really no reason to assume that life outside our solar system is like us OR not like us, is there? "like us" seems like a logical place to start, but no one's going to give you a definitive on either being absolute.
Ok, I remember when VHS tapes cost a lot, but you can't argue against price gouging by comparing DVDs to theatre tickets, can you? they're both under the same price control and the counter-attack is simply too easy: of course the MPAA's price gouging is reasonable when compared to the MPAA's price gouging.:)
there have been numerous advancements in transport which have made the relocation of nuclear waste less dangerous than the floating ecological disasters in wait we call oil tankers. a quick google search reveals as much, i invite you to do some research.
that said, there are granite statues littering washington, dc which emit more radiation than the yucca mountain storage facility's (where the US puts all their nuclear waste) radiation levels or that it is even allowed to come close to. in addition to this, as has already been pointed out, current coal burning spews radiation into the atmosphere an order of magnitude greater than the combined effect of any and all nuclear mishaps.
it was only a few months ago when James Lovelock, patron saint of the greenies, jumped ship with the backwards logic of greenpeace et al and himself stated that nuclear energy is the only real and present solution available to us to save ourselves from the eco-disaster to come from our current and past energy production means. it is greenies who cling tightly to the far off dreams of pure energy production that are now the greatest danger. the energy industry wants to move to nuclear, we *need* to move to nuclear. antiqueted and baseless fears that halt implementation of modern, safe, and more effecient nuclear technology are holding the human race back from making real progress towards keeping us and the environment productive to our survival stable enough to have the time to develop the fabled pure energy technologies of green dreams.

that's great, and on your advice i rolled back a few test boxes and tried it out.
unfortunately, it seems to have a similar problem as overwriting a previous installation - it works at random.
so apparently it *is* in the release notes for a reason.
first, i love firefox, it's a wonderful product.

the fact that they own Blogger probably gives them some interest in not wanting this :)

aren't local broadcast limits on sports games usually used to drive venue attendance, not to shut out a provider?
yes. as mentioned in this article, the plan is to have people register for an account and log in to use the service.
i just add whatever site is taking up too much time to my killfile and i get over the addiction in a couple of weeks :)
The average business user can't justify clicking on a link for wetsexygirl.com
good thing i run the gateway here. *delete*

their only claim is that they're the first global cellphone based television network. can you deny that? i really can't, to be honest.
