apple.com is screwed up. I have never had a website crash both Firefox AND IE. Is this happening to anyone else? Have you clicked the "more features" link on the new iPod page or on the online store? Ironically, it seems to be a Quicktime plugin problem.
So what about Google and similar engines? Are all of them breaking some law? Are they going to have to (gasp) censor their search results?
Yes, you say "knowingly helping" and the engines are nothing but bots, but Google (the company) did "knowingly" create the engine realizing that it would return results that might link to illegal content, didn't they?
Actually Windows (XP) doesn't nag if i just yank my USB thumb drive out without doing the "Safely remove hardware" thing.
That's because XP defaults to not using drive buffers whereas W2K used them by default. If you use buffers, you have better performance but the danger of losing your data. With no buffers, you can just yank the thing but you get slower performance (although I can't really tell the difference without a benching tool). You can change this in the drive's properties (both OS's)
AND, if it's an MS Optical Mouse 2.0 like mine, you'll not have to change the batteries for another month or so. I got mine mid July and it's still chugging along. I recently got a warning to "have batteries ready", but it is still working flawlessly even with low batts.
Plus, they say that the drag is about 6 feet or 2 meters? Not quite. I must nitpick. 2 meters is about 6'7", or 6 feet is about 1.82 meters. So which is it?
How many know what the first PG-13 movie that came out was?

Give up?

Red Dawn.
I'll always remember that for some reason. I was about 13 when it came out too. It was about Russians taking over America (cold war days). Not too bad a flick for those times either.

Actually, that asian "release" is not official and is really a Laserdisc rip to DVD. That's why your version doesn't have the so-called enhancements Lucas put in; they were done after the Laserdisc release.
I have a 256Kb satellite connection (out in the sticks) and one time when my bandwidth dropped to below 28Kb speed or less, tech supp said "the cloud cover is slowing the speed of the beam down but once the skies clear you'll be back to full speed."//grumble//...shouldn't have told him it was cloudy. The problem eventually "fixed itself" but when I called again for the same problem about a month later, I made sure to say there wasn't a cloud in the sky. His response (almost sure it was the same guy)? "There is invisible weather fenomenon slowing the beam down."...worst part is I'm stuck with it 'cause it's the only company I can get out here with anything faster than dialup.
I've used my Tungsten for the last 12 books I've read. With an SD card, you can fit all you like and the screen legibility is great, although it may be that I'm just used to it. I know some people have issues with it. You may not think color is important, but the change I made from b&w to color (Palm IIIxe to TT) improved legibility incredibly. The increased resolution was also a great factor.
This is the same quatraint that was mentioned over and over when Challenger exploded. Seems pretty vague to me, especially if you try to link it to Columbia since there were 7 astronauts and not 9. If I remember correctly, the Kappa Theta Lambda thing was supposed to be the initials of some company that made some component of the rocket boosters on Challenger. I still having trouble believing this stuff though. Kinda like a horoscope. Interesting at times but just a load of crap. Just my $0.02.
Maybe what he was trying to say was: "They are raised that way. Why the else would anyone follow (insert religion)?"
Why are Christians Christians? Catholics Catholic? Upbringing maybe? If you would have been born and raised in Iran, wouldn't you be Muslim, for example? If you would have been raised by some remote tribe that believed that God was a giant turtle holding the world on its back, you'd probably be just as firm with that belief.
Maybe the questions is why do you believe in one religion and not in another? And then ask, why believe in any at all?
You could also ask, "Where did God come from?". The answer I always get: He created time. Before that he simply "was". Ok, but if the initial state of the universe contained all the matter we see today (recklessly chopping through some theory here), we could also say that it contained "time" (spacetime) and there was no way to measure "when" or "where", for that matter. Maybe that initial clump of energy always "was". Just food for thought.
Probably not too many because the fake pop-ups have the standard MS Window decorations. Unless you're running a theme that copies that decoration exactly, the pop-up looks out of place. I bet if the decoration was a copy of the default Redhat Gtk theme, there'd be a lot more clicking by Linux users.
Sorry but as someone who currently lives in Colombia, I have to reply to some of your false statements:
...the FARC are *not* terrorists
So my friends' family members were kidnapped by freedom-fighters? In 1994 and 1996 two of my best friend's uncles were kidnapped by the FARC and returned for ransom (my dad was a mediator). Not to mention general car-bombings, political and civilian murders, plane hijacking, etc. Sounds like terrorism to me.
"...US government and the US media are completely biased in favor of the terrorists..."
"They (FARC) are the victims fighting against the terrorism in their country paid for by the US through the Columbian government and enacted by the State sponsered para-military groups."
You contradicted yourself. If the US is biased in favor of the FARC, why would they pay to fight them? Although this type of contradiction by governments, though. I'll give you that;)
The FARC have been eating away at this country since the 60's. My friends and family have been personally affected by these idiots, so please don't state your slanted opinions without coming down here a living it for a while.
That could be exactly what this is. As a former US resident now living in another country and not exposed to so much propaganda I see that, for example, China is not as bad as I was brought up to believe. Not that I agree with any of their oppressive policies, but they're certainly not the 'devil' they're made out to be. In fact, their tech programs have some good points. Then again, I just might be more exposed to China's propaganda now;o) Hmm... Guess the only thing to do is wait 'til something happens, I guess. Hard to know who to believe sometimes.
...to your hosts file, or else BDE will install itself when you fire Kazaalite up, because it goes to Kazaa's real start page, which installs it automagically. Hence, your pop-ups.

It just doesn't make sense to me.
You probably could buy any of these. Like with everything, it's only a matter of price.
Actually Windows (XP) doesn't nag if i just yank my USB thumb drive out without doing the "Safely remove hardware" thing.

What is it about this game that is so conducive to hacking? If I remember correctly, this game was also used to hack the Sega Dreamcast.
Plus, they say that the drag is about 6 feet or 2 meters? Not quite. I must nitpick.

The metric system strikes again, I guess.

I'm pretty sure those remaining 6 lines are used for the closed-captioning track.
AND, "Rapper's Delight" uses the entire bassline from a previous disco song (I'm sure someone can name it).
A resample of a resample of a sample.

Can't export or archive; you just know it's tucked away nice and safe on your HDD (sarcasm)
OR, you could just use system restore...
Wouldn't this be basically the same thing?

Yeah, but how could you tell the phone was stolen if it's data was reset and it's IMEI changed?
You can get windows version here and it looks pretty good (downloading it myself fer old time's sake).
