I see *no* niceness whatsoever when it comes to spreading nazi shit around any piece of the globe.

Do i like nazi's no. but unfortunately, their speech is protected(in theory) in this country. As such, we are all obligated to respect the right to speech(note i am not saying we should respect the speech itself). This is the consequence of a free society. I think the pros outweigh the cons. Deal with it or fuck off.

I'm taking the semester off, and I remember when I was in school the first 2 years i absolutely hated doing programming because all the projects they gave us to do were completely inane and idiotic. Granted, they taught us the basics, but I already knew the basics. Now, in my time off, i'm working on some home-brew projects and I couldn't be happier programming now.

College classes aren't meant to be fun. Whether the real world is fun or not depends on your point of view and/or your luck.

I've installed RH 7.2(snicker if you must), and other than going through to configure apache, i never really had to edit anything from /etc manually. They've added a start here folder which contains a wizard(can't think of another word for it) for configuring anything the basic user might need.

I'd certainly like to know. Is it that they see a potential in linux gaming, or are they doing it out of good will? I'm unsure but it looks like they've snubbed directx and direct3d completely in favor of OpenGL.

Why, I thought they thought this was their best shot at outlawing Linux?

This isn't an exactly great bill for microsoft either.

First off, if they support this, it'll add more fuel to the fire for a harsher sentance in the antitrust lawsuit(Judge: so you agree on government interference, a few months ago you didn't?).

Then there's the international issue. Do you think a "security enabled" windows is going to sit well with the the EU(they tend to side with the consumer)? So they either have to make another version to disable it(costing lots of money) or risk losing losing european business.

So, basically this is foresight on the part of microsoft. The minute they agree to, "the government can tell us how to run our business", they open a door they might not be able to close.

    2) Are the "extra" tags that IE only reads part of the standard html spec?

You want MSN only to work with IE, fine. Go ahead, i'm not going to argue about the right to manage your web site the way you see fit. But don't expect me or anyone else to swallow this "standard-compliant browser" bullshit.
