Sorry, but ATI driver is still PISS POOR relative to nVidia. It seems that everytime I install ANY distribution (... well, Fedora, Ubuntu or SUSE,) nVidia Just Works (tm)(r) but with ATI I have to download some weird thing from ATI, and the stuff (almost) never work right.
You can say what you want about having an ideologically "open driver" but frankly most end users want the stuff to Just Works (tm)(r). My own experience is that ATI is still VERY FAR from Just Works (tm)(r).
I am of the opinion that all organization of sufficient size would have skeletons in its closet; that organization can't get as large (or prosperous) as it has without having done one or more things at some point that is either illegal, or immoral, or both.
By the time government takes action (if and when it does) we'll all already have suffered the consequence for some time, and effective counter measure no longer exists (see DoJ vs Microsoft.)
Seems to me that if this is all true, there is certainly grounds for a class action suite here.
And what would be the point of class action? Comcast will eventually settle for "undisclosed sum" with out "admitting wrong doing," Lawyers walk away with millions while the rest of Comcast customers gets a 5 dollar coupon off the next month.

If incompetence isn't a factor in this, I am incline to think that this is a plot by the broadcasters to break some of the commercial skipping algorithms...
