    Well it looks like everyone is looking at this as the beginning of the end for UL. But to me it looks like they are actually working on this. Ive seen plenty of Open Source project announced and nothing is really done with them. Its good to see they seem fiarly serious about this. There is going to be problems. My only worry is that becuase Suse is the biggest of the distros they will try to throw their wieght around.

    Gotta love amd. For the most part AMD trys to avoid this. Now when it comes to ram changes they have no control. But i like how that Just because AMD comes out with a signaicantly fast CPU it doesnt mean you have to switch MOBOs. With Intel you pretty much have to buy a new MOBO with every new CPU.

    ...Or maybe the hardDrives arent fast enough to take advantage of the speed. The whole thing with ATA 66+ is that the drives are only as good as the burst speeds becuase the average speed on the drive doesnt even take advantage of ATA 33

    Ok... Well if The modem is USB 2.0 and you have 1.0 then it wont work. If The modem is USB 1.0 and you have 1.0 then it should work... Is the question more along the lines of will this work with linux Becuase if you upgrade to any newer version of windows you should have no problem. As for linux dont know.

    Im stuck with windows but I use the Mozilla Suite(Browser and Mail) and it makes me feel so much better that i dont have to worry about viruses on windows... A reason for ppl to get Moz?!

    Dont mean to be a troll but this scares me. If commercials are made useless by this technology how will the networks make money?

    If anything, the lawsuits are a reason to get a ReplayTV instead of a TiVo. You'll be supporting a company that is pushing the best technology they can; if it forces the networks to rethink their revenue model, that's a problem for the networks to deal with.

    Yeah well i would rather deal with the commercals then to have to deal with commercals built into the shows... Imagine a Farscape episode with a starship with a coke picture on it.

    If the in show commercals dont show up then you will have the networks trying to do the same thing the cd companys are doing and try to make the tivo like devices completely useless with copy protection... I will take the technology with the commercials im not ready to deal with tech blocking/unblocking war to start with PVRs and Networks.
