If you attached a 3d engine onto CYC, you can trail and error, learn how to use limbs you attach onto a robot. Eventually its using the best result as it learns to grasp... Then when it judges weight/shape/density/wind, and throws, it can learn how to best hit a target.
I'm interested to see which AI is seen first. We'll probably have both versions of AI down the line though. I wonder if there are any more AI possibilities.
Just like paint programs don't allow you to delete files when you open a.jpg, so should any network software have the same power.
You should be able to access data and use it, but the data should not be able to access your computer.
The problem is that many closed source software programs have backdoors and basic coding flaws. If you understand what a program does(open source), then you can know it won't cheat you.
Someone used a super charged ray of static electricity on a pair of mice in my roleplaying game: InterGalactic Bounty Hunter in 1990... (BTW someone is releasing a video game named that now, and I have it poor man's copywrighted-registered mail)
Rolled 1,1,1 on a 20 sided dice...
So they became parapallegic mice, with super intelligence.... They used robotic parts to create transportation, and schemed to seek revenge on the guy who did it in future episodes of the game.... Then when they realized he also helped them get intelligence, instead of killing him, they started to take over the universe.
One or two years down the line, Pinky and the Brain came out.
Theres only so many novel ideas out there that are original and artistic... Let alone copywrightable ideas in engineering and physics.
Women have less tendancy to date a guy that is smart because in the United States intelligence is looked down upon, and women don't want to feel lesser.
I don't think its wrong for people to take their prescriptions. Maybe I am an idiot, because I don't understand your argument at all.
My argument is pretty easy to understand:
Sell drugs, make money.
If you cure disease, then pharmaceutical company no longer makes money.
Theres actually copywrights, and patent lawsuits protecting information about diseases because of capitalism.
If there was governmental funding, then information would be shared freely, and focus would be aimed at the cures.
Of course, countries are the same as people in a marketplace. If you cure AIDS, you can't sell drugs to foreign countries. The only thing curing AIDS would do is raise foreigner's opinions of your country... But that doesn't buy guns.
Wake up, its 2003, and while we do have a share of idiots, we have more college graduates than ever. In fact machining jobs are looking for slavers there, not just burger flipping slavers.
Our unemployed are skilled, and many are very intelligent. It takes a degree of intelligence to not take a burger flipping job, when you know you're better than that.
Old debatists used to talk about why poor men owned no land, while real estate barons owned more than they ever need. Back in the day, real estate barons would say,"People need an education." Well we still have real estate barons, and people do have educations now.
Pharmaceutical companies make billions of dollars a year selling drugs for diseases. What interest do they have in curing diseases?
I think disease research, energy aquirement, food aquirement, and some other issues should be directly researched by the government.
Private corporations aren't always looking out for the best of society, and if you haven't looked around we are experiencing economic problems. Practically every college grad I know has a shitty job or can't find work.
But to some people, Capitalism is Jesus. Especially if they're rich themselves.
Since the game wouldn't let me advance, I shot my seargent.
They sent me to the brig.
Would the United States fine itself for allowing me to kill an army personel?
After all, the Army could be used as law enforcement in a police state.
STILL....
Let me get this right.
Violence, where we invade a country and kill its patriots is alright.
Yet its not ok to vent violence on a video game?
Oh I get it, the government wants people willing to join the Armed Forces.
If we had FDR style work programs researching cures for AIDS and cancer, we'd solve unemployment... But we'd allow skilled people a work option outside of the Marines. Yes I know CMU grads who enlisted out of suicidal depression at getting no job.
I love America, and I respect the armed forces, but theres some major shit going wrong in our nation. We need to stand up against liability lawyers, insurance/credit agencies, banks and all forms of corruption.
But the funnest thing I did in galaxies was create a: Fat man with a mullet Strip him to his wife beater and skivvies Teach him dancing Take him to the cantina And give everyone who came in lapdances and grinds
"Its my fueltank for love." "I'm dead sexy." "Buisness in the front, party in the back" And random in your face comebacks.
I'm working on my MMORPG right now, but this other idea would be boring to code, so I'll let someone else do it, unless someone comes to me with funding for this multi billion over a few years idea.
Basically its an agent that job searches ALL the net for a position. Like ebay agents. To develop it, all you need to do is parse every website out there:) Good for 10 workers over 2-6 months. Not good for one coder.
Patents just screw everyone randomly.
No one knows what is patented. If you develop something, and someone has a patent on it, then you find out.

Sounds like a monopoly trying to flood the market with cheaper goods to kill off the competition.
Its actually the #1 reason monopolies should be controlled.
Is anyone awake out there, or have we lost our rights?

Mod all my posts down by 1.
Make completely off topic remarks.
Some people take their hard lined politics too seriously.
Doctors vs Lawyers... been watching this for some time.
Liability NEEDS capped at a low figure. It impacts more of our lives than just entertainment.
I'm from PA, theres many problems past this, but its good at least one is being worked on.

Virus can be installed on your computer through IE.
:(
How is this news?
Just ctrl+alt+delete end task the accrd whenever you see it.
Too many people use PDF files to abadnon the reader
I'm one of the biggest fans of MMORPGS...
But the funnest thing I did in galaxies was create a:
Fat man with a mullet
Strip him to his wife beater and skivvies
Teach him dancing
Take him to the cantina
And give everyone who came in lapdances and grinds
"Its my fueltank for love."
"I'm dead sexy."
"Buisness in the front, party in the back"
And random in your face comebacks.
This is what I say.
But alas neither of these news items affect me, other than make me upset other people have things.
If when libraries were invented, we had the technology avilable to distribute content to all men, don't you think we would have done it.
NASA dude1,"Sir! The autonomous rocket, its vering off course!"
NASA officer,"Hit some buttons!"
NASA dude2,"No good! The AI has manual override!"
NASA officer,"What payload did that rocket have?"
Evil NASA dude,"That was our mining and manufacturing base. We were going to setup an automatic base of operations to build robots. "
NASA dude1,"Sir, its vering of course from Mars... to Uranus?"
NASA officer,"How long until the robots plow Uranus, rape its resource, and fly out of it?"
etc etc etc
Robots + automated mining/manufacturing secluded on another planet is the most obvious way robots could become sentient.
I don't think ergonomics is holding us back.
I do like the other idea, that a cancer in society is preventing a cure for cancer in our bodies.
That is divine irony.
I bet no one will sue me then.
I'll say Hillory seems like a bitch. If she takes offense to people calling her a bitch, it confirms this too.
I couldn't do my homework in my classes that I felt I already knew.
So I'd work on my own personal video game at home.
I can work 18 hours straight AND enjoy myself if I'm creating, as opposed to trying to interface with someone else's code.
Also I can't do anything if I have many things on my mind, like holding down a crap job, or remembering schedules.
Massive amounts of excercise for like 3 hours until I'm exhausted, then I can deal with the rest of the 12 hours coding.
Also I try and keep distractions to a minimum, or I can't focus.
Two games corporations play on their blogs:
#1 They delete posts by people that disagree.
#2 They use smoke and mirror shouting.
I'm working on my MMORPG right now, but this other idea would be boring to code, so I'll let someone else do it, unless someone comes to me with funding for this multi billion over a few years idea.
