    How much permforance overhead will this cause? The 'Desktop Environments' already eat a lot of RAM and CPU.
    How much disk space will you lose over this? All the metadata has to be stored somewhere, and just glancing over the link I read something about a versioning system, which will definently take up quite a bit of space. Will a 20gb hard drive become 15gb with DBFS?

    I just set those 3 config variables, restarted Firefox and there is no change in my fonts. AFAIK, firefox for Debian Unstable (0.9.3) is compiled with freetype support...

    I saw a kiosk last week that was running an odd looking browser. about:config did not do anything so after a few minutes I realized I could just lookup a page that did browser detection. Much to my surprise it was Mozilla 0.9 (a very stripped down, weirdly themed) running on NT 4.51.

    (For anyone who cares this what as a Casey's Bar and Grill at Yorkdale mall Toronto)

    Far in the past, yes. I was a student in Ontario for many years, and at *least* the past 5, probably much more have been with Microsoft Office. Now, we also had old versions of Corel Office stuff along with it, but everyone just used Office.

    Web based applications *suck*. I do not want to refresh the page everytime I change an option, I do not want to use some propriatary scripting language to run a word processor. The web was *not* designed for applications and applications will *not* run well on the web.

    Microsoft is looking at it constant court costs and anti-trust fines as simply 'the cost of doing business,' and has no intention of changing.

    This tells me that new steps need to be taken. If fines aren't a deterrent for them, then something else should be imposed.

    Hah! My server/router is a 233mhz beast. I've got it doing routing for my home network, DNS for my domain, HTTP, mail, and sometimes an xfrisk server. The CPU usage climbs to about 50% when 300kb/sec or more is pushed through it. I love my server.

    What world are you living in? 750Mhz is quite significant in my mind. Other than my Desktop machine (1.67GHz), I have no other PCs that are more than 233Mhz.

    Yes. It's very stupid to stick to your ideals. It's very stupid to believe in something. Maybe some of these people really believe in outsourcing, THAT'S FINE. But I'm willing to bet there's lots of people that don't, and I hope they stick to their beliefs.
