Jefferson practically started the two party system. He back stabbed Adams time and again going as far to hire reporters to smear Adams. I don't think the political atmosphere has changed so much over the years.
For a highly anticipated game it probably makes more sense to release the game and follow with the demo.
For a game that doesn't have public recognition it would be just the opposite.
If you game is already getting the press that DOOM3 is then getting a demo out early would be more likely to keep people from buying the game than to encourage them to buy the game. I know this has worked on me several times. I go buy a hyped game and find out it sucks later. If there had been a demo I wouldn't have made the purchase.
Now, if nobody knows anything about you or your game getting a demo out may help people pay for the whole version.
Hmmm, I don't see many recumbents going over the passes here in Colorado. For some reason I don't think your going to get much a lead in this terrain.
That said, I just finished the "triple bypass" here. Its a 120 mile ride over three passes. There were many cool retro bikes being ridden but the most amazing rider was on a unicycle. I can't even imagine going 120 miles in the flats let along over Loveland pass..
Cycling is just like any other hobby. Its fun to have nice toys. I've yet to hear of a computer that runs faster because it has a window and a light inside...
I've written my open GA for doing circuit optimizations and it works very well. The thing I love most is that they are so simple to write. There are things you can do to speed up convergence but the basic algorithm is very straight forward.
The difficult thing is how to score individual trials. I don't know how many times I've checked things after a overnight run and found that my results aren't what I expected. Pretty much everytime this comes down to how I've scored a trial. Just remember you get what you ask for.
For a circuit example, suppose I ask for a certain power comsumption and speed but I overstate the speed goal. Because I'm so far off the speed goal the power will largely be ignored. There are easy ways to tweak this but the point is...again...you get what you ask for.
Society has an impact on the raising of children. You can stick your head in the sand and pretend that parents can raise children in a vacuum but that isn't the case.
Yes parents are the primary interpreters of the world for their children but its pretty hard to justify why Joe Bob likes to run random people over in a stolen car.
parody ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pr-d) n. pl. parodies
A literary or artistic work that imitates the characteristic style of an author or a work for comic effect or ridicule. See Synonyms at caricature. The genre of literature comprising such works. Something so bad as to be equivalent to intentional mockery; a travesty: The trial was a parody of justice. Music. The practice of reworking an already established composition, especially the incorporation into the Mass of material borrowed from other works, such as motets or madrigals.
I think they mentioned a dual-core processor, not a dual processor. Thats a big difference. Intel's Hyperthreading is a step towards a dual-core and we have it today. With the work I've seen from Sun and IBM on dual core processors I'd expect we see this sooner than later.
Its a lot easier to blame it on everyone else then take some responsibility. Thats why you hear so many complaints about being beaten up and harassed.
Sure it happens but in my experience a persons intelligence, work ethic, and areas of interest have little do with it. Back in highschool most of the people in my AP and advanced classes were involved in school either in atheletics, cheering, or school government. I guess the point is most bright, intelligent, people are not harassed and being an achiever is not the cause of the problem.
When people by shares they are doing it as an investment. By definition they are trying to make money and it is the CEO's job to do that in the best possible way.
The best way to maintain and increase shareholder vslue is to ensure the long-term viability of the stock. I think you would agree the present craze of day trading and minute by minute stock tracking are driving companies in the wrong direction though.
IMHO if it can't do RPN it doesn't deserve to be called a scientific calculator. For that matter, anyone not using RPN should think twice about calling themselves and engineer or scientist:).
I use GA's for circuit optimization all the time. They are very effective and often find things I wouldn't have thought of.
That said, you don't take their results and just run with it. I find you that once a solution is found I have to go back and understand what and why it did what it did. In the case of circuit optimization I need to make sure that the optimizer isn't just exploiting a modeling problem (this has happened a few times). In the case of optimizing for complier flags I'd imagine the same thing applies.
After the optimizer finishes selecting flags the developer should go back and make sure that all the flags make sense and aren't risky. Its at this point a developer can decide what he/she wants to use.
Yes, the offshoring of technical jobs is disturbing but its still a small chunk of the overall jobs available. The people who are out of work, by and large, are because of the economy and increased productivity levels. Not because of offshoring.
Even if your outlook were true, if all the good paying technical jobs dry up there won't be anyone left to pay for the plumbers andmechanics.
Hmm, having just taken a tour on a sugar train in Maui I find it hard to believe that sugarcane would be the best source. First off they said for best yields sugarcane was only harvested every two years. Second it took something like a yard of sugarcane to produce a single cube of sugar. Finally sugarcane is a tropical climate plant.
Seems we need something that takes less space to grow. Can be harvested every year and can be grown in most of the U.S.
Now, the thing I think was missing from Tom's first article and you don't mention is that all Linux distros aren't equal in this respect.
I work in circuit design. Many of the tools are now ported to Linux (Yeah!) BUT most only support Red Hat Enterprise (Doh!). So, if you have any issues you need to have RHE if you want support. Seeing that these tools are pretty pricey the cost of getting RHE is just a drop in the bucket. So, when migrating don't just look for the normal apps but look the requirements for your specific applications and what they support
I suppose the cost of raising a child and helping put them through school wasn't enough. I'm not sure what kind of relationship the original author has with his/her parents but mine would be just the opposite. If I tell them something they would believe me over someone else no matter what they paid the person. I guess it comes down to a matter of trust.
I've went through the same thing with my parents. Help them get the hardware. Set them up with useful programs and show them some basics then let them play for a while. If they really enjoy it they will come back with many questions. I know I was more than happy to share my hobby (and work) a bit with my parents. At least they have a little more understanding of what I do.
And for that matter, what about the power node things. What exactly is in those large dots that allow you to munch on the Fry Guys? I sure there are many./-ers that have tried certain items and thought they were seeing ghosts.
Ok, first off, what the hell is PacMan anyway? This big yellow circle (no 3d back then) that gobbles up dots. What are those dots anyway?
Now our hero, PacMan, is chased around a maze trying to eat these "dots" by a bunch of ghosts who look oddly like the McDonalds Fry Guys. Why are they ghosts? Are they long dead PacMen out to seek revenge? Are they haunting the maze? Have millions of PacMen died in this maze trying to get the valuable dots? Sounds like someone needs to call a priest to me, not some yellow sphere?
I can't speak for other areas but in electronic/circuit design circles Linux on the desktop is here. All the major EDA tool vendors now offer version of their software for Linux. At first this was compute intesive stuff but now that people have built up a number of linux boxes the move is to get the tools with gui interfaces ported...

I've yet to have some one typing away on a computer while I'm in a movie theatre....

Just my 2 cents....

Ahh, just dump some iron in the ocean. A nice algae bloom will take care of that CO2.

Anyone know if the TI calcs to RPN?

Talk about a pessimistic outlook.

Can someone explain how these pre-order boxes at places like Best Buy work? What is actually in the box? How do I get the actual disks?
Thanks
I agree, the key is the applications!

So why exactly is this bogus? Because you don't have a degree? Because you don't get venture capital? What exactly is your argument?
Most people in high-tech have degrees. Many high-tech companies use venture capital. Start-ups employee people.
Oh BS!
I suppose the cost of raising a child and helping put them through school wasn't enough. 1.5 After having found a new job ...
Your burning some bridges here. While I don't disagree this is a nice action I'd be sure I have a place to work before I started complaining.
LOL, I forgot about the fruit!

I've been noticing Amazon carrying many more ebooks lately. The prices for the books are pretty nice too.
I've tried reading off a Palm or laptop and it just doesn't work. A nice high contrast device would be perfect.
The bottom line is this device needs to be cheap.
