Obama deported the most illegals than any previous president. He did run and get elected as a Democrat right? Just cause fox and friends tells you something, that doesn't make it real. In fact, if it's coming from fox it will either be a lie, or coated in delicious lies. Just like the crazy neckbeard racist fuckwads don't represent conservatism as a whole, neither to the left wing nutjobs who seem to get endless airtime. I get that it's hard to understand these bubbles, but you really need to be aware that they exist on both sides. Left = all conservatives are racists Right = all democrats are socialsts The extremes are entirely made up bullshit. Sadly tho, the extreme on one side is certainly acting out with little to no repercussions.

  3. Re:Sounds like an ad for on Quantum Computers Will Break the Encryption that Protects the Internet (economist.com) · · Score: 1

sure, if you don't have the slightest clue what quantum computing actually is. That botnet can theoretically hash out stuff yes, but you aren't pooling that processing power, you are distributing it which causes it's own bottlenecks and headaches. A quantum computer (they DO exist) can hash out faster than any of those combined. As well, through entanglement, the actual communication takes place over nothing, and is instant. So, i mean while we can say QC may help break our current encryption, the technology that QC can eventually provide us will literally remove the need for encryption. Unless you are at point A or point B, there's nothing to encrypt, listen to or steal. Spooky action at a distance is a real thing and it's spooky as fuck but potentially will change our entire techno-ecosphere for the better.

  9. Is where I point out neither Notepad++ nor Textpad? are shipped native with windows. I suppose plugging flash keys into fresh servers or going on the internet to download them is fine in your environment right? Why sideload 3rd party apps that constantly update and in some cases actually open up vulnerabilities, when you can rely on a native application that gets it's updates through the os and is already fully integrated. P.S. you are still free to use whatever you want, if you don't use notepad this literally does not affect you.

  10. yeah sorry for those of us who actually work in the industry, the fact that notepad fails to honor line breaks and formatting for 90% of the files I interact with, I have to ask why you even posted that. Considering notepadd++ is installed on almost every administrators windows box, it makes sense to grab some of those features. Maybe you like cracking the code of "am I in command mode or insert mode, of fuck did I save that?" with vim, some of us would prefer to work on some of those files in a gui and only an idiot runs a linux server with a gui so... It's almost as crazy as someone forking a linux distro, making it look an awful lot like windows, and copying a bunch of windows features onto the linux os... it's almost exactly like that, you might know it under a different term "giving the users what they actually want"

  12. pfft that went down the memory hole for apple users just like the whole certificate authority and forged google certs that apple decided to keep trusting for several months after it was discovered, the only reason being to fuck with google services on their devices. I mean, I can boot up any flavor of linux and I'm not getting into a root shell without a password. I can boot up ANY version of windows past 3.11, and likely including it, and not be able to get into admin without a password. I have to jump through insane hoops to get root on my phone. But on an apple device on the right version, i just need to knock on the door twice and I get in. Yup, trust them with all your data and passwords because they certainly have not become the behemoth they set out to destroy. They'll debut another expensive piece of crap that finally provides features their competition has been providing since 2014, then "innovate" a few more dongles on us and the cult members will cheer it on. For fucks sake apple can't even follow 802.1x properly.
