What they agreed to is stopping updates without knowledge. This says nothing about not forcing people to upgrade / update without their consent. If they REALLY wanted to fix the system, they would enable every version of Windows 10 to block certain updates / upgrades and go back to the single update system instead of the update packages.

The PiSector system I recommended before, you plug it in, configure it and its done. So many of you idiots are either bitching about his situation, or giving him several day (if not week) projects that he may never be able to get to work. Don't you think he has enough on his hands already?

  10. PiSector self monitored alarm system on Ask Slashdot: Panic Button a Very Young Child Can Use · · Score: 0

PiSector Alarm system from Amazon >> http://www.amazon.com/Professi... Has an emergency button and you can program ANY alert to call YOU (and no one else if needed) but you can program it to call up to 6 (i think) numbers in sequence to alert you, and a monitoring service if desired. Also has all of the other sensors as a bonus, if there are places people shouldn't be going during the day, etc. Its a full wireless solution, so all of the sensors, remotes, etc don't need to be hard wired, and you can mount the emergency button somewhere the toddlers can't get to, and the 2 year old can.

  11. VPN an option? on Ask Slashdot: How To Unblock Email From My Comcast-Hosted Server? · · Score: 0

Browsing through all the comments I didn't see anything about setting up a VPN. You can always setup a static IP VPN and have the web server / email server hosting from that IP address. There are tons of VPN hosts that are 1) Free, 2) stable, 3) support full DNS (including IPv6) and 4) have excellent documentation for help setting it up.

Isn't it funny that within a year of Activision purchasing blizzard that their stock tanks, their games suffer, and everyone looks the other direction? Diablo 1 and 2 were awesome. Several expansions of World of Warcraft were awesome, and StarCraft was great. Activision took over and Diablo 3 was horrid. Wrath of the Lich King was the last expansion that was mostly completed before the acquisition and every expansion since then that Activision started making changes to has tanked. If Blizzard wants to survive, buy yourselves back and make a run for it.

Just because you don't understand their needs doesn't mean you need to step in and try to change what you think they need. (Ever think they just MIGHT be smarter than you or know their needs better?)

They want a low wattage test system for doing embedded dev. Period. Don't skirt around it, don't try to poke and make fun of anything he says in the comment, either you can't help him or you can. MOVE ON.
