Selling the software is not a valid response. Make that repair software free and easy to get. If they can't make a profit simply building tractors get out of the business. The idea is to build a better and cheaper tractor and the best company stays alive. Those that can't compete and use tactics to force people to spend money need to be put out of business. The auto industry is loaded with the same type of corruption. Tesla has a superior product and the industry is trying like crazy to pull any stunt that will hurt Tesla. A simple digital scale can sort many items by weight. An XL shirt for example will have less weight than a size M shirt. So if the shirts are stored such that all are the same except by sizes the robot can work its way through the bin until the correct size if located. But go to a junk yard that has one of those machines that can grind a car into small chunks and watch them pick up the steel pieces with an electro magnet and leave all else behind. It is efficient but not perfect as a tiny bit of cloth could be impaled upon a sharp piece of steel. Sorting can be easy or difficult depending upon each situation.
You can bet that any large OS developer or security product staff has been penetrated by US agents and probably has covertly placed them on staff. The very products that you use to protect your systems probably grant access to US agents.

Doctors, emergency rooms, ambulances, morticians, courts and even police forces can lay off workers due to less drunk driving. Insurance companies make huge sums raping the wallets of convicted drunk drivers and God only knows how many bricks in the court house were paid for by drunk drivers. Can society survive this kind of progress? Next they will find a way to beat down heroin addiction. Imagine the countless jobs created by junkies collapsing dying or requiring rehab or paying lawyers, courts and probation fees we will lose. Can we afford this sort of thing. Those robots might drag a cable behind them or use some sort of radio link but the end effect is that they can kill when need be. I think what is behind the article is an objection to flying robots that remain under the control of a human operator. The next move might be a totally automatic hovering or stationary device that instantly fires at the flash from a gun muzzle. When cable TV started up the theater industry fought tooth and nail to stop cable. The movie houses argued that cable would destroy the theater industry. And it was true. Cable did knock the theaters on their rumps and the movies houses are not what they used to be at all. And it is true that some movies may have a greater emotional impact if viewed in a theater. None the less cable won out big time. Now we have a situation in which Netflix and others are hammering the cable industry. Streaming will beat cable and become the norm. But there is a hidden weapon that gives cable too much power. Cable is also a huge internet provider and their data caps apply to streaming but not their own channels as streaming is considered as a data service. Cable carriers have an unfair advantage. One cure is to have multiple cable lines into every home so that carriers would be forced to compete instead of having a monopoly on your service.
The right wing hates the poor and anything that aids the poor they try to ruin. I suspect that the poor may have responses that nobody will like. There are numerous ways to create internal enemies.
