    First of all Android is based on Linux. Second - if you compare desktop to devices you have skipped all IoT devices that most of the time run Linux. So here we have it - 2017 a year of Linux!

    Not all RAIDs are equal. If you want your data be safe use RAID 1 with second volume in a remote location (aka. offline backup).

Please do not compare open back case and replace battery with use a heat gun, pry carefully a glass back, 15 minutes later if you are lucky and did not break anything, dissemble a number of components to remove a battery. Been there done that, no more, thank you! Re: "spouting misinformation" and "All of those things that have replaceable batteries are unable to make phone calls or write texts" - no comments.

  11. These phones become useless after a short amount of time! Every phone I had after around 2 years required a battery change. My scuba diving computer, my old school watch are good at least to 300ft and both have replaceable batteries - so stop this BS. I will be just fine with 0.01mm difference in size as long as I can remove a couple screws. I will totally forgo 6in screen size in my used to be portable phone. Since these companies can't adjust we need to regulate them else we are going to create a ton of unnecessary eWaste.

    I'd rather have "Knee-jerk reaction" and take away guns from society that has a "Knee-jerk reaction" to kill someone. It is common theme: can't solve it, can't talk, can't discuss it, I have more power b/c I have a gun and I will just shoot to prove my point - is approach that kills people!!! In less civilized countries you will get a hit in the face, get a couple punches, moronic opponent will get arrested, and be done with "dispute" - but at least you will be alive.

    There is an overload with information - to stand out you have to attract consumer. What better way than by using headlines and copy that causes emotions. One of the most powerful ones are negative emotions like anger, fear. That is why we no longer have conversations on merit. Mention Trump or abortion and people's head explode. Now everything is at emotional level - we grow apart every single year!

    What you call distortion is for some people a huge benefit it adds uniqueness to sound and it is valued by a lot of people. MP3 just lowers the quality which is different. You cannot recreate the experience of 60s with SACD or DVD-A.

    From my eBay and paypal experience as a seller: buyer contests transaction, they loose on eBay side, but paypal sides with the buyer, you loose product and money. Google for issues people have with paypal/check consumeraffairs.com. Add this them as a payment to Amazon and I am gone from that market place.
