    How they can expect a customer to adopt their product when they show no commitment to it? How many times do we have to waste time learning, using new thing that goes into obsolete mode? Throw it at the wall and see if it sticks no longer works with their approach.

    Internet is not much different than scribes writing books in Middle Ages. We always preferred to store information outside of our brain - books, encyclopedias, and now to internet/wikipedia. Internet just enabled quick and free access to information.

  10. You have to play your users - it is a mind game. Deprication warnings are great but them jump 5 to 7 is a problem. People will upgrade to next minor version but will hesitate a move to major version (not to mention 2 major versions). You need to move users thru small set of changes in each minor release 5.7, 5.8, 5.9, then 6.0. It takes more time and planning but it ensures everone moves along. The only way to fix it is to release 5.7 branch and start including 7.0 changes.

  11. Frameworks, languages should always provide a clear migration path and never jump major versions. Python, Zope, PHP, and many more learned that lesson in a hard way.

    Twitter will not solve the "mistery" - a proper investigation will do. I know it will take time but at least it will cut sensationalism. Just give it a time.

  14. First of all AIs are biased towards provided dataset. Since most people cannot tell why they had a hunch to hire/not hire the person - how they are going to provide good data set for AI?

    It is hard to DevOps with security when in most organizations DevOps means 1 person is doing a job of 4+ people (BA, Dev, QA, SysAdm). Security is usually first one to get compromized (cost, time, and scope would be considered before security).

    In not so old days to replace battery you needed no tools or in a worst case a screw driver. Now you need special tool, other crap and 30 minutes - what a waste.
