Losing a car isn't a big deal? Yeah right. I don't think you know what you are talking about. It's not exactly a good thing to lose your car because you can't afford to pay your bills. It's not good for your credit.

I think everybody should have a job that they enjoy doing. If you hate your job then there is no reason to work there because it will make your life miserable.

Although I don't agree that one should quit or burn bridges over it. It's better to find the job you want while you are employed than to just quit and live off next to nothing until the next job comes along.

I also don't think a person should quit just because they don't get there way or because they are not 100% happy 100% of the time. Even the best jobs in the world are not perfect all of the time.

There are some things worth standing up over (I always try to voice my opinions in my job) or even quitting over, but it would have to be something I feel VERY strongly about in order to make me quit on the spot over it.

I have seen people quit over some pretty stupid things, and in the end even they admit that it was not worth quitting over. They were just being hot headed.

That's the point when you lower your standards and end up going to work at a job that is worse than the one you left in the first place.

You think it will never happen but it can and it will. I've seen it happen to a lot of really good people.

I'd say being able to pay the bills is pretty damn important.

Ever since the NES I have always played games with friends around.. Even if it means taking turns.. I never really did get into playing games by my self.. It's like getting drunk alone (to me).. It's fun, but not THAT fun ;)

I think any game on a GOOD PC will look better than damn near any console. The X-Box might be faster than MY PC, but it isn't faster than the latest and greatest pc, and it can't do high res as easy (Most TV's aren't designed for it)

  9. Re:The biggest complaint about the PS2... on Playstation 2 Outsells both Xbox and Gamecube · · Score: 0

Thank god. I was expecting to get flamed. Awesome post.

Most of this was just my opinion. I think there are a lot of good games on the PS2, just nothing that I am personally interested in. The games you listed are all single player games that are slower paced (well most of them) and I have rented all of those games and could only get into a few of them. Most of them are pretty to look at, but get boring really quick. (Like MGS2 in my opinion)

One game I really want to get though is FFX just because me and my bro are FF freaks, but personally I would love to see a game like Secret of Mana where we could play with 2-4 people or so :) I loved that game.

As for DVD playback. Yes there is an issue with the motor burning out. There is 2 gamestops near my house and they have had to return a LOT of PS2's to get the motor replaced. I'm not sure if the newer PS2 is effected though (yes, there is a new revision of the PS2 out)

As for games looking better on the other systems.. Go play Max Payne.. SSX never looked *that* great to start with. I didn't say PS2 couldn't play nice looking games. Maybe the games aren't as good because it is harder to develop for?

Like somebody else said. Being harder to develop for doesn't exactly mean that it is better in any way and there probably isn't much you could do by "tweaking" the PS2 that you couldn't do on other systems.

I agree 100% with your comment about the X-Box and PC games, but I think that it is the 3rd party developers choice to write the games like that. You can make the game look like whatever the heck you want. The games don't HAVE to look exactly like games on the PC. It's just that all of these people are on this kick of having the latest and greatest graphics instead of the best game play. That drives me insane.

You're right. I am into multiplayer games. I think *most* people are. Take your fave games and add 3 of your friends and tell me you won't have more fun. I would. That's why games like Super Smash bros, Mario Kart, Quake3, etc are all some of the most popular games. If it wasn't for Halo's AWESOME co-op and multiplayer options I probably would not play the game 1/4th as much as I do.

I think Microsoft will win the online multiplayer portion of this battle by a long shot. They have the most experience in this area. It will be very easy to get online with the X-Box and I think Microsoft will have the best interface to use while online also. Plus you will probably be able to surf and download stuff (WebTV??), etc..

  10. Uhhh... No? on Playstation 2 Outsells both Xbox and Gamecube · · Score: 0

There is a bit more to it than that.

First of all how would it compete in SIZE? It's going to be big enough to fit a cd in it (which is already bigger than a freakin GBA.

How will it compete in terms of battery life? Extra large battery? Hmm more clunkyness.

Will the games on the PS1 be more fun that the GBA? ehhh. It depends on who you ask, but me personally? I think the GBA would be more fun. It doesn't have your same old boring typical BS 3D style games that we are all tired of. Plus I've already played my PS1 games to death why would I want to play them some more?

I'm sure I left a bunch of other stuff out too.

Like the fact that the GBA has FAR more games than any other system EVER (Don't forget. You can play GB games on it) And the fact that more people already own a GB and GBA than a PS1.

I think I'll stick to the GBA, thank you.

  11. Re:The biggest complaint about the PS2... on Playstation 2 Outsells both Xbox and Gamecube · · Score: 1, Insightful

Is that the *only* complaint you have seen about the PS2?

I can think of a lot of things I don't like about it.

The lack of 4 controller ports..

The lack of any really fun multiplayer games (aside from GT3, some fighting games and sports games). Almost no 4 player games.

The fact that it has been out for so long yet it hardly has more fun games than the newer systems. (Yes there are a lot of *decent* games, but not a whole lot of really good ones)

When a game is released for multiple systems it always looks the WORST on the PS2 or has the least amount of features. (Max Payne, Tony Hawk, etc)

If you watch too many dvd movies or play too many music cd's your motor will burn out and you have to take it in to get it fixed. (Not sure if that was fixed in the newer versions or not)

The fact that it is harder to develop for means that developers have a hard time taking full advantage of the system, AND makes them want to write their games for OTHER systems instead. Almost like what happened with the N64 (although there were other things like space issues with that system)

    Should I go on?

The only reason I even keep mine around is because I love GT3 and a few of the shooting games (Time Crisis) that I have.. Oh and GTA3, but I'm sure the X-Box version will be better.

BTW if you are curious.. I DO have all 3 systems and the one me and my friends play the LEAST is the PS2.

The fact that Nintendo markets to a younger group of people is possibly why it could take the game market.. You think places like Mc Donalds would exist if it wasn't for kids? Nope. Sure adults have the money, but kids control the adults. Shit when I was a kid I could get my parents to buy me a new game or two every time we went out. I had hundreds of old NES games. You also gotta remember. Sony and MS are fighting for the same group of users while nintendo has pretty much no competition.. Also, Nintendo doesn't ONLY shoot for the younger market.. Some of their better games are made for adults or older kids.. And you think DVD playback is such a big deal? Why? It's not like it's GOOD on the Sony or anything.. Most people want a REAL dvd player.. The ones that come with a remote and stuff? Plus as most linux biggots would say they like having a system that is good at doing ONE thing which is playing games.. You can have a game console that plays DVDs or a DVD player that plays games, but neither of them will do their secondary functions well :-\
