    The real problem with incorrect reporting times is when you have a very large number of 10-100kB files to transfer. Windows spends a very long time starting up the transfer of a new file, and that is where I have seen the greatest slowdown and most inaccurate time estimates.

    Windows 7 performs better with smaller files, and provides a transfer rate indicator, but everyone already knows this.

    What a weird thing to take out...

    Processing is a set of libraries that I think use Java to do "creative coding"

    lots of generative art is made with "Processing"

    I do a lot of work with openframeworks, which was also used along with cinder and houdini.

    Those game demos looked a lot like the standard implementation of OpenCV. It's too bad there isn't any security on this technology as merely showing a picture of the person to the camera defeats it.

    You ever find something really really old and put it to use as a joke? I found an old 16 port lantronix (LTR16T) 10-baseT hub that went for 849 dollars when it was new sitting the bottom of an old storage unit at work.

    If it kept me from permanently recieving the job (ie. even after the whole mess was cleared up, someone had been hired in my place), I would sue the company performing the background check for punitive damages.

    If not, I'm sure you can take it to court and get yourself reinstated.

    I once applied for a job, and had to take a drug test. There was an error, and when I explained to them that I was very seriously not on drugs, they held the position till there was a retest. If they are professional, and know that mistakes can be made they will hold the position for you.
