well, without actually reading the article, it would appear that 2 dudes are redoing metropolis, the 1919 dystopian film by fritz lang. this is to i guess make up for an appearently bad version redone in the 70s [my guess, since he mentioned giorgio].

and it is being shown at Film Forum on Houston St. in NY City for two weeks.

i will admit, i am not a soccer/football, but i did watch a few games, and all i can say towards the goaltending is wtf? on a penalty shot, they just take a guess and dive one way when the ball is kicked and hope for the best... one game, the guy made all of TWO saves, and the announcer was down on him, saying he appeared weak and uncertain. it just seems bizarre that one of the most important positions seems to be the worst played.

maybe some people dig standing up, but imo, standing when you could be sitting is for chumps. i would much rather build a wintendo or something, plug it in to a tv and sit down on a nice couch to play games. whether its console titles of yesteryear or MAME titles, sitting beats standing any day, and you don't need to waste all that time/money building a cabinet.

free format? since when hasn't the mp3 format been free? yea, there is the thompson group and all their licensing. but LAME is free for all. the point that someone made about there being no advantage for people to switch is true. and with the pure volume of mp3s and support in existence, ogg doesn't stand much of a chance, safe for being some oddity that a few people will embrace to be show how "hardcore" they are.

feh, why bother? the refresh rates are horrible, the color is always bleached out, and the price per inch ratio is still quite high. why waste dough on a pos lcd, when for the same price as a 17", you could get a bitchin' 19" flatscreen crt?
