Agree...full URL and especially protocol have to be displayed. Removing this is not only unnecessary, but can also lead to incorrect assumptions (after all, a site with www can be different than one without). Dropping the protocol is weakening security.
What makes matters worse is that phone vendors do not put any effort into updating Android to newer, more secure versions. I think Google needs to take a lead there and just update Android on all devices rather than dump that on the vendors.
Not only that....US crime rate in general is much higher than Germany's. Since over a million of migrants came to Germany the overall crime rate declined. Some people just don't like facts and instead make stuff up to fit their arguments.
As far as the Linux to Windows migration in Munich is concerned, it had nothing to do with Linux as such and more with lousy management. That was the main reason why the cost savings weren't as expected. Replacing OS is easier than fixing management, but it will not have the same impact.
For any such project, make sure to secure the funds to repair, replace, or remove. In these cases, whoever failed to do this originally ought to pay up out of their own pocket.
Kavanaugh opposes everything a modern society is built on...and given his life expectancy he will ruin the US for the next 30 years or more. I know that the Senate has to approve, but with Senate Republicans folding like cheap tents it is clear how the vote will go. Thanks to everyone who voted for Trump for ruining all our lives! I hope you enjoy your unemployment due to the job cuts caused by Trump's trade war.
Depends on where you go. Germany for example has among the highest recycling quotes and many e-waste recyclers are run by training and employment centers of local governments. Excellent way to train folks to be electronics technicians and get a step into materials science. In that constellation profits are not the focus.
While gold and silver are targets, profit is made from reclaiming other metals such as copper and aluminium. CRTs have toxic materials in them, but they are also made with top grade glass that is not cheap. Does not make up for the expense of processing and properly disposing, but a concerted effort is needed. If recyclers don't take CRTs then they either end up in the regular trash or somewhere in the closest forest. Neither is a good option.
As far as mining goes, about a third of the world's copper is trapped in landfills. Eventually it will be economically feasible to mine the landfills.
Is a new theme really that important? I rather see Outlook finally quote emails properly and stop stuffing the signature in the middle of messages. Every other email client can do this except Outlook. Almost makes it useless. I wish there would be other email clients that work with Exchange.
I wonder the same, and I wonder when state or federal legislation will come....probably only after courts took on various cases. With this feature, it seems to be intended to be operated on private grounds such as one's drive way?
His boss doesn't care about basic human rights either. C'mon folks, enough of you elected this president, so either stop whining or talk to those who put that national disaster into office. I'm more concerned about the millions who still think the current administration is doing a top job.
So who gets the bulletproof desk from his office? It is sad that such a tax money waster wasn't fired long ago and instead we had to wait for him to resign. Now what about the many others who waste our money on a daily basis...like someone who travels almost every weekend to Florida with full security detail and has spent 1/3rd of his time in office on a golf course?
The blue and white ones are flaking off as well. The baby poop yellow ones (officially called "golden") are fugly and much harder to read. I like the Connecticut plates and also the very simplistic ones from Texas.
I use Let's Encrypt on a NoIP domain (DynDNS) without problems, but my site is rather low traffic.I consider myself to be technically somewhat versed, but each quarter it is a guessing game as to which file goes where on a stock Apachefriends install. Yea, I should write this down rather than complain about it. The point is that tech stack providers and cert agencies do not make it easy enough to add a cert to a server. It's 2018, give me a GUI front end that has one button: Obtain and apply Cert. I click it, select the desired provider, pass some information on, confirm that the site to certify is mine, and then have the files applied. Want people to use stuff, then make it easy to use. Router admin UIs should do that automatically and leave the option to direct to a different cert repository if the user desires. Sadly, many companies these days throw devices on networks and have no clue about networking or security.
"HTTPS doesn't require much at all." - It requires maintenance effort and incurs a financial cost. You have to buy certificates and they expire. Yes, there are free certificates like those from Let's Encrypt, but they are cumbersome to use and expire after 3 months. If Google wants everyone to use HTTPS then Google should issue free certificates that expire after a year or two. Google demanding things without doing their part is typical. Aside from that, any site dishing up static content and not collecting any login or other personal information does not need HTTPS.
One would hope so, but if people are so dumb and naive to put Trump and many of his Republican cronies into office in the first place, they will do so again. Besides that, with a Supreme Court going to be a puppet theater of Trump and Trump claiming that he can pardon himself for anything, there is little chance that anything will change for the better. Adenauer once said "Every country gets the government it deserves!" Talk to those people who still think that Trump & Co do a top shelf job.
The corporate market for the most part does not care what processor is in a box. They sign contracts with Dell or Lenovo or some other vendor and have per employee type and level a set budget for systems that include whatever OS the vendor puts on it. Additionally, they sign a deal with Microsoft to license Office 365 for X users. If those puppies run Intel, AMD, or Qualcomm is not that important except when it impacts cost.
The Firefox UI still sucks. Looks like Chrome and makes interacting with the browser quite annoying because everything is hidden behind non-descriptive glyphs. Firefox should recreate the pre 3.x UI as many have requested. Also didn't help that they needlessly changed the extension engine making many excellent extensions unusable. There still is plenty of user-ignoring arrogance at Mozilla. Their developers think they are hot stuff and the users are clueless by definition. Build something we want to use and we will use it. What they offer so far is just not compelling enough to make a switch.
If it has to be a Mozilla based browser, then use Pale Moon. It is put together by an excellent team of developers who truly care what users want. Even if they disagree with a user request, they explain in detail why. This is how a FOSS project should be run....not like the trash talking in forums from Mozilla's devs and Dotzler.

sorry...should have been a p tag, not a b tag.....oooops

True, especially since there are now plenty of FPGAs available that cost less and do a better job at mining.

CO2 is used to push the beer through the lines to the bar tap. Feel free to come up with a better, food safe, and low maintenance solution.
They will get a taste what happens when Brexit is done and they are out of far more stuff than just CO2.
I hope they finally remove the ribbon and replace it with a space saving and much easier to use menu system.
eBay is mainly one thing: expensive for the seller. Besides that, Amazon has its own resale platform, they do not need to bother with eBay.
They can still donate it rather than send it to the dump. If they would have done it right they could turn this into a massive PR campaign.
The mod down came because the comment has absolutely nothing to do with the original post. Not everything is about Trump.
