...no really...who cares about your name problem in wow? It is in violation of their policies...they set the rules..you agree to play...don't like it? Quit...simple.
Not really a solution for every game or everyone. I bought a transgaming account for WoW because a friend of mine said it worked great. I had problems with my system though and when I tried to get support never received a single response to emails or on the forums.
Linux still has a long way to go before it is ready for hardcore gaming. It would be great if all games used OpenGL but they don't. Hopefully it will be addressed in the years to come because the ONLy reason I still use windows is for gaming.
Nurses have a healthier attitude for sex and engineers are more conservative? ROFL and you base this on what?
I'm in IT...and had two boys...and I'm a FREAK and rarely have sex in the missionary position...I doubt your profession has much to do with your sexual preferences or style.
Ouch on the pay..I think my lowest wage was $4.25/hr which was, at the time, minimum wage. That was McDonalds.
And now that I think about it...I think that was one of the worst jobs I ever had. Painting is up there too but at least with that job the pay was better.
I doubt I can remember my exact chain of jobs but I think it went something like this:
Baby Sitter (age 14)
McDonalds
Telemarketing
Wood Mill
Road Flagger
UPS Truck Loader
Day Labor (basically digging holes with a shovel)
Septic company where I did everything from getting into septic tanks to try and retrieve tank covers to installing new leech fields
Driver - I drove cars from New Hampshire to NYC and then picked up another car and drove it back.
3rd shift clerk at gas station
Spent a summer painting houses interior and exterior.
Tutored at college (basic computer skills like DOS and word etc)
Computer Operator for a bank
Hardware technician
Technical support for an ISP with split systems administration duties
Systems Administrator for a startup company.
Systems admin for consulting company
Systems admin for my current company.
Now I know I'm missing some small jobs. Some of those above I held for a few months...some like the hardware tech position was 18 months. After that the jobs were at least a year and my current position is over 3 years...
Oh I know I did some web design work in there and also some "In your home" computer work for individuals.
I'm 28.
I've seen the really shitty...pun intended and I've been in IT for quite a while. I still hate IT...I doubt I'd go back to hourly $5/hr cleaning shit out of big cement tanks with no bennies but at the time I actually thought it was a good job.
As would I. I used mice that were too big for too many years. Since buying an mx300 and remembering how nice it was to to have a small mouse that was perfect I do not want to give it up. I treat my "cheap" mx300 with much care.
I've seen so much bitching about the RIAA and MPAA, and I agree with a lot of it, but you have a choice. Vote with your wallet. Do not buy their product, that is the only way you can have change. I've been RIAA free for almost a year now..perhaps even longer and I now listen to better music as a result.
What would you rather he did? Leapt to his feet, in front of a class of small children, and started issuing orders to shoot down commercial airliners?
Yes, and I'm not a liberal.
Who cares about how a class full of kids would react at that moment? Who cares how it looked for the cameras there filming. He is the president. When the shit hits the fan you get your ass in gear and take care of business.
If you're running content-based filtering, you're part of the problem. If you refuse SMTP traffic from confirmed spam sites, you are part of the solution.
Blacklists only go so far in protecting you from spam. Content based filtering works and it IS part of the solution for my mail customers.
I would not open myself or my customers up to the increase in spam that removing content based filtering would cause just because it MIGHT cause more servers to be blacklisted and in turn that MIGHT cause people to bitch which in turn MIGHT cause a company to wake up.
There are too many ifs there. The reality is most spam comes from Russia and China and it doesn't matter how much you blacklist those blocks...they keep sending it.
Content based filtering IS a part of the solution. As well as blacklists and whitelisting.
And do you _really_ know why comcast took this step or are you just guessing?
You can say the same about anything. Find a woman that has similar interests. If not, treat it like anything else you or your significant other might not be interested in (sports/music/etc) and spend time doing your own thing and find time to spend together on similar interests.
"Get a life? A real one?" What, exactly constitutes a "real" life?
In my state if you are a felon you are unable to have any stake what-so-ever in a business that makes distributes alcohol. You can go before the liquor commission and they might give you a green light but its unlikely. I only have 3 more years before I can get the felony wiped from the books though so I'll live I guess.
Of course, if it were me, I'd go to prison with a big, shit-eating grin on my face.
Yeah..sure you would. That rosey feeling that you "stuck it to'em" would wear off as soon as you walked in the front door.
I don't care who they mean if they can get legislation through that actually protects my privacy...I'm with them 100%

Don't feel bad. I'm from New Hampshire and I signed it for you ;)
Sadly, or not, I'm using SecurID from RSA Security and the PAM module requires that I shut off Privsep.
I recently implemented OpenSSH for a remote access project and while I really like OSSH I have a few feature requests:
1) I wish I could control what fowarding can occur in the config file on the server. Access lists would be great here.
Currently I do this by having the system in the DMZ and applying an access list to the entire user population.
2) I wish I had the ability to log which users opened what tunnels where.
Even so this a great application and I use it every day.
Grats on making it 5 years with a quality application.

heheh I'm still laughing at you
We're also aware that system administrators often commit horrible -- albeit accidental -- decisions in a pinch.
Only poor ones. As as systems administrator I would never use a beta like this to backup ANY data that was important.
You really have bigger problems with budget/manager/etc if you don't have a better backup product to use.
How could this be considered news?
This just in Linus uses Charmin toiletpaper. Not because it's softer but because he likes the packaging. Stay tuned, updates to follow.
Then you will be disapointed. Solaris isn't for your home desktop to play movies and listen to music.
Right.
The spammer already knows this...

Just by reading all the emails from the previous story and then reading this...you can tell it is the same person typing.
Honestly why have the police not taken care of this guy already?
And you have the right to be informed and use another service.

I was going to post something similar. Thanks.
This is exactly what I did and they haven't bought me any of those devices....and I also don't put as many hours in at night. Its wonderful :)

They are still there now. I work there.
