Two repair companies screwed me and so did Sharp. First by producing a defective product and then by not replacing it for a full year and then by not giving me a refund until I took them to court. This is much more the fault of Sharp than the repair companies since if they produced a product worth selling I'd never have had the chance to meet anyone from the repair shops.
I could not return it to Best Buy since it was 33 days after I purchased it. Maybe some stores are better but I DID call and was told that it was after the 30 day return period and that I would have to deal with Sharp directly. Also I owned a car that made bringing it back impossible. So showing up at the door and demanding a refund wasn't really an option.
I consider it closed as far as Sharp making it right. That doesn't mean I don't want to inform as many people as possible that they make poor products and hopefully stop you or someone else from making the mistake I did...buying one.
And I took time off to get my TV fixed because that was what it took. I was interested in having it fixed. If you had an expensive product that needed to be fixed you might want to do the same. I don't see how that is stupid. Still bitter? Yes I am. It took over a year to get my money back. Did you read the whole page?
I have to post. I feel it is my duty as a burned customer. Give me my -1 I don't care....if even one person reads this and doesn't buy a sharp product because of it it worked. Karma be damned:
...that they do not use. This is because they were one of the first companies on the scene when the Internet started. But we have TONS and TONS of IPs that are not in use. I bet that if companies like mine gave all the un-needed IP space back we'd be better off for a while.
If after 5 years of service, which is invaluable in my opinion, you can only find 3 "google holes" then I'd say thats pretty damned good.
A few things I kept in mind while reading this article:
1) Its from msn.com which provides no service as far as I can tell. The only time I've ever visted that site is when I first start up Internet Explorer on a fresh windows install. Then I promptly change my start page to www.google.com.
2) IIRC Microsoft is looking at creating a new search engine? Maybe someone else can speak to this but I vaguely remember reading about it and how they wanted to compete with google. If thats accurate...the FUD has already started.
3) My own expieriences with Google. There is a reason I use it daily and that is because it is the best search engine. Is it perfect? No but it is the best. It is a tool and if you learn the tool you can find the results you are looking for by adjusting your input.
I'll be back I'm going to google on this microsoft search engine thing...
BBN still has quite a bit of address space. I work there currently. I wish I could remember what we have off the top of my head but I don't. But I belive its "multiple Cass Bs" now.
The first three digits of a SSN tell you in which state a person was born. THe first three digits of mine are 001 which tells you I was born in New Hampshire. Thats like saying:
"We just posted the partial addresses of all lawmakers in protest"
George Bush Washington DC Howard Dean Vermont
Just post the whole thing. How is this news? I agree with their stance but they should either be forceful or do nothing at all.
861107 I have no idea why I can remember that, you have me beat by a bit...but not too much. And yes I agree...back then it was a much better product. I vaguely remember a company buying it back a long time ago and from there it went to shit.
1250 a week before taxes in that tax bracket with more than one mouth to feed and the high cost of just "getting by" make that much money not that much in reality. I make a bit more than that and I have threee dependants. I'm taxed pretty heavily, I don't own a home, after state and federal taxes and my bills (including gas diapers etc) there isn't a whole lot left over to save with. I think it really depends on your location and how many people you have to support with those dollars. If you make that salary in Kentucky you can probably live very nicely. In the New England area its really tough to live on that kind of money unless your willing to drive over an hour away from the big cities (assuming you work in them).
Now all that being said...it really doesn't matter if he saved...he was screwed out of $7500. So even if he spent all his money buying hookers and toy Evils dolls its still moot since the point is that he was lied to and screwed with and at the end of it all he didn't even get paid.
If you read his journal you would know that he worked for this company. Having done so I think he knows how this guy operates: aka whoring his daughter for money. If you go to her site its pretty obvious its all BS and not written by her. Get a clue
...in order to move a small production machine off aging hardware. The price is in-line with other 2U rackmount servers from Dell and IBM and probably a better deal than sparc hardware with the same specifications. The fact that we'd be running Intel + Linux on this machine as opposed to sparc + solaris is a huge benefit. That coupled with the Sun support services (which I think are prett good. Just like all support programs there are problems but as a whole its worth having) makes these new servers VERY attractive.
Now I have to convince my department to try this out...shouldn't be much trouble considering its $8,000.00
Congratulations! You win. All Russian cities have been destroyed. *** Statistics: No American losses. 278 million Russians dead. Your score is one of the 10 best so far!
I've had nothing but trouble with Sharp. While this may be a semi-isolated ( I say semi-isolated because I know of similiar reports) case you should read this page about my troubles with them.
Until fairly recently there was no linux voice client like Roger Wilco. There is something called teamspeak that I use now and it has a Linux client. Every time I go 100% windows-free I end up buying a game that is DirectX or doesn't have a Linux port. The latest is Warcraft 3. Right now thats the only thing keeping me from going 100% windows-free. ALl my other machines are Linux or Solaris and at work I use Linux on the desktop and Solaris on my servers...
... First we have the title BMG Stops Producing CDs
They didn't ACTUALLY stop producing CDs.
An Anonymous Cow writes "The register has a new story about claims by Bertelsmann that they'll stop manufacturing uncrippled audio CDs.
This doesn't really tell the whole story either as well see further down.
It looks like this is a test case, because only all European CDs will be crippled."
And after a LOT of crap you see that its only in Europe. So we went from BMG stopping all production of CDs to them stopping production of all uncrippled CDs to them only doing it in Europe.
...cause I just don't care anymore...not about karma and less and less each day about this site.
Lets be honest, its going downhill fast. The posters are double posting with regularity, stories are old news half the time I read them and now we have product placements as ads on top of the already increased ad-space.
Its really too bad, this used to be a great site. Here come the flames....
I've come not to trust just about any company that gives me a free service in exchange for my information. Therefore I never give real information. So they can sent off my information to whomever they like and I know that I won't be contacted.
If Episode III can pick up where II left off, III should finally be the Star Wars Prequel that we've been waiting for.
Hopefully in the future it will take less than 3 movies to get it correct. I really can't figure out how EP1 and the bad parts of EP2 got so messed up with 4,5 and 6 under his belt.
Doesn't the correction make this a non-story?
The parent was being sarcastic. How did you add to the discussion dickbreath? lol

"end user" its clothes for christs sakes. When wearing clothes you should not be considered an "end user".
Man if this wasn't modded to 5 already I would have given you a point. Exactly what I was thinking but way more humorous than I would have said it.

Microsoft has been giving free software to universities forever, hence influencing what is taught to students.

script kiddies? I'm as much of a script kiddie (yes I downloaded and watched it) as you are an intelligent human.
