You wouldn't do what you say for one simple reason. Your buying that product from another country because you don't have the technology/know-how/ability to produce it yourself. So what are you going to re-flash the chips with?
OK she has carpal tunnel..so do I (I'm 25 years old) if my pain becomes too much I'll get another job. It sucks but its the way it goes. Why should a company spend money to make the machines work in a way that does not hurt? Find a new profession...stop bitching and stop filing lawsuits that waste money...pathetic
...WTF who said it sucks? I never played RPGs before I bought FF VII and I only bought it for my girlfriend as I am usually an FPS only guy. After playing FF VII for about an hour I was hooked and bought and played FF VIII, FF IX and now FF X( which I have 60 hours into and just beat ). Great games ( with the exception of 8 which didn't really do much for me ). My recent RPG experience is limited however, and other titles might suck. The FF series is good. For those that don't know in FF X there are talking charactors which are cool but the dialog is a bit cheesy at times and sometimes things are best left for your imagination to interpret instead of some cheesy voice-over actor.
What about up2date from redhat which is free. This is for updating the Operating system. Ximian is an enhancement and charging for red carpet which basically makes it easy for a moron to update their system isn't much to ask in my opinion. You can still do it by hand if you so desire. You have to pay for convenience. With Linux you have a choice, if you don't like it don't use it.
Yeah stop selling me cigarettes and beer too cause its bad for me. I think one of the great things about Linux/UNIX is the fact that you have options. Whether or not you choose good ones is what makes you a good or bad administrator. If some people are not smart enough to use ssh instead of telnet thats their choice. It may not be a smart one but at least they have the option. How abou we disable telnet by default..that would be a great start...
...that were as easily broken into as those of the department of interior I would want them to make it more secure first as well. If they are incapable of that they should be taken offline until the safety of the information is addressed.
Are you asking for new features for the sake of having new features or for something in particular that you think you can't find from the current offerings? As you mentioned many of the window managers are very solid. There are many to choose from as well.
During my last interview I was asked to sign an NDA. I don't see any problem with it.
The company ( which I am now a member ) has a very unique hiring process that I cannot discuss, but I think giving out the kind of information about thier company ( ie. financials, clients etc ) was important in my decision process.
I'm sick of interviewing for an hour or two and coming away from a company not really knowing how it worked. You have the skillset they want, they make themselves look as good as possible, but when all is said and done you don't have much of a clue about them.
When I left this interview I knew almost as much as I could, as an interviewee, about the company and it helped my decision process.
I didn't see anything in the NDA about working on project similar. It would be impossible to enforce anyway.
At my old company we were setting up a 64k line to India before I left...the cost was something like 5-10k a month depending on exactly what we did and the line took a LONG time to install...India won't even let you go up to a T1 by law unless it is specifically approved by government and even then you have to pay a few people off.....corruption is great
locally here for my phones. I would recommend AGAINST going with BA for a couple reasons. 1. They use ( at least in the northeast ) PPP/OE and if you research it you'll see this is not a good thing 2. They are as restrictive on IPs and domain names as cable There is a company here called Harvardnet that is a third party provider that will do DSL at a good price give you any number of "justified" IP addresses doesn't use PPP/OE, allows you to setup your own domain on the setup etc etc... no I don't work there but I was looking for DSL for myself in this area...they were one of the very few that provided it....
I agree that firewalls are only as secure as the OS they are run on. No I do not turn off all access to the firewall in most cases. What new holes have you found in slackware recently that would provide a breach of security? I think that it is important to note that while I have built many boxes with slackware as firewalls I have had no successful breaches of security in about 3 years. 3 Years ago on a home machine I had someone get a remote root shell that caused damage but it wasn't because of slackware it was because of qpopper and my weakness in security. I think I understand computer security fairly well. While I would not run Slackware as a firewall for a large site it does a great job on small/medium sites when cost is a factor and I think you would have a tough time showing me that FreeBSD is more secure than Linux if both are configured properly. I also use a PIX or other device when setting up a firewall for a large network.
Please show me how well you understand computer security by showing examples instead of using broad claims. I could very well be wrong, what I'm looking for is a little insite as to WHY.
Can you explain this statement a little better? I have built quite a few linux firewalls. I always use slack for a couple reasons: 1. I know slack better than any other distro of linux 2. You usually don't get the latest and greatest as quick so things can be tested better. I also use OpenBSD and FreeBSD ( Usually OpenBSD because, again, I know it better ). I've been using Linux for about 4.5 years and BSDs for about 2. I don't see how you can say BSD is tougher than Linux as a blanket statement. Can someone tell me why "Linux simply doesn't cut it when it comes to security and servers in general" as stated by the coward? Thanks
My bad...not Medium and Medium well....here is a quote from the report:
"Recent studies have further evaluated the relationship associated with methods of cooking meat and the development of specific types of cancer. One study conducted by researchers from NCI's Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics found a link between individuals with stomach cancer and the consumption of cooked meats. The researchers assessed the diets and cooking habits of 176 people diagnosed with stomach cancer and 503 people without cancer. The researchers found that those who ate their beef medium-well or well-done had more than three times the risk of stomach cancer than those who ate their beef rare or medium-rare. They also found that people who ate beef four or more times a week had more than twice the risk of stomach cancer than those consuming beef less frequently. Additional studies have shown that an increased risk of developing colorectal, pancreatic, and breast cancer is associated with high intakes of well-done, fried, or barbequed meats. "
haha I used to work at Rotten Ronnies and if you read the report it says beef that is "Medium" and "Medium well" are the ones that most likley cause cancer. And having worked there for 10 months while in High School I can tell you that everything is cooked Medium. Its really too bad I know about McDonalds;)
I'm not sure that, that is something you can prove but over-cooked beef has been known to cause cancer. This has been pointed out after a study done by the American Association of Cancer Research. This study was done in 1996 so you've had time to hear about it.
I agree....I don't think what he did was anything spectacular...if this thing DOES go to court, which I don't think it will for one reason or another, then we will see how good he(or the firm) really is...calm down beavis
Well I have to disagree about one point...it was all downhill after the justice album..(Ride the lightning being the best IMO). And as far as Dave Mustaine and Megadeth goes they are just as bad! I used to be the biggest Megadeth fan on this freaking planet...well at least until Rust In Piece came out...their best is Peace Sells and Kiling is my business....I have a VERY LARGE megadeth collection available for sale if anyone wants it...it has rarites from Japan the UK records CD's singles tapes backstage passes pieces to the megadeth game ( I told you i was a huge fan)...I ditched allthe posters and T-shirts in anger over the loss of Vic hehehe
the average viewer will watch the movie 3 times
Yeah and I have a bridge in New York that I can let go dirt cheap.
The government could have put a BACK DOOR into this package rendering all your cryptographically-delivered pr0n viewable by the evil empire!

What about Gnumeric?

Please, use or administer Lotus Notes and you won't call him an ass anymore. It has to be the worst setup for mail I have ever experienced.

This will be the cheapest recall in all of recorded history...
