I think it's time to class the scientology a "dangerous sect", like it's defined in France or other country in Europe, especially in Germany where tom cruise and travolta's movies are not really welcome...
I didn't use much of altavista for years... each time I want to type it in my address bar, I type "astalavista"... maybe because I search for special things:)
I remember maybe 20 years ago, in a big catalog in France like "La Redoute" (equivalent to Sears), they were selling stuff like this to put on your wall, basically a big magnet like a standard speaker, but the wall act as a membran to vibrate...
he never had this nomination for Bad Taste:o)
what's funny is on the original cover, the alien has only ONE finger up, not two like the US cover.
see the true cover here
when you think that Peter Jackson is the same one who made the movie Bad Taste, it's kind of different budget:o)
I saw Bad Taste in theater in 1988 iirc and it's was very funny!!! I think because of LOTR a special edition of Bad Taste will be on DVD, so if you never saw it, go buy/rent it to have fun!!!

hummm I did it the other way, I have a master in "unix system and network", but I have always like to code, so now i'm more a programmer than a sysadmin, but I do 35h/w, no pager the sunday morning saying "the system crashes" etc, better!
the driver for the good old PowerVR PCX1 card (like the Matrox M3D) had this abilities to detect the name of the.exe then turn on or off some optimizations
just take a look at this apps for example which do the same things than the driver.

Obviously, since nobody in Europe's ever heard of Star Trek (an American television show, for those of you wondering)
are you kidding?!? Star Trek 60s was on TV in europe in the 70s and after, I have seen in France the 60s series maybe 10 times between 70s and 90s!!! And I have seen 5 star trek movies in theater in France also
I know there's some drugs so the patient will suffer less, or feel better, but in fact it does not *cure* AIDS no?
I just hope the day a true cure will be found, it will not be patented, so everyone in the world will be able to take it for 1$.
so you should agree that patent the human genome is a Bad Thing(tm)? How can people, especially R&D of pharma companies, try to patent a thing like this? which is not a gadget nor invention nor IP, it's like patent on software or mathematics or "technology to put a hyper link in a text so when you click on it you go on another page" or the 1-click patent, shame... You have to fight the patent office, nothing else.
In France, for a couple of years now, it's "innocent until proven guilty", and it's far better for people. There's some US laws that looks "strange" for non US people you know! It seems in the US the company/profit/dollar is more important than people rights...
What can I use if I want more than that, say a range of about 20 miles? What kind of technology/speed is available? I think Spread Spectrum can not work for this, no?
true, and Peter Jackson even directed and played in his own movie, like Bad Taste

this site ministry of interior has been hacked
just searching on google for mediacloq brings a lot of articles (1450), so it does not seems to be a fair new system?
Palm has no plan to continue development of BeIA as reported by cnet
Yes, the same!!! remember Trumpet Winsock 2.0f or 3.0d, now they have IPv? since version 5 I think, not bad, seems a fast stack etc
every win32 system can have IPv6 for months using Trumpet TCP/IP stack, even win98, not "only" nt/2k that have ipv6 support from M$ also.
reminds me Robocop... which has better laws
