you can take the AQ (Autism-Spectrum Quotient) test, there is a link in my sig to a paper describing asperger syndrome and geek syndrome, the test is here and I scored 32:-/
talking about webcomic, here's one I like a lot: A Modest Destiny, a few days ago, the owner's forum was kind of attacked by people From Mall Monkeys, who were jealous because AMD reach 3rd on the top web comic...
it's a hard business to be a web comic...
From what I saw, MSN messenger is used a lot by teenagers, not by us, old people... I opened an ICQ account 6 years ago and my friends too, and we are still using it, nothing else.
Anyway, you, me, and others/. geeks know M$ is bad blablabla spyware blablabla, but ask a 13y/o boy or girl? (s)he only knows Windows OS and chat with all his/her friends with MSNM, and their computers are infected with virus/spywares/etc and even if you try to explain to them it's bad(tm), they don't give a sh*t, M$ does not care about 25+y/o people, they know they control 99% of the teenagers, and it's all they need for their future. Let's just hope the 1% remaining will do something:-/
...especially if their search engine run on a windows OS, remember the trouble they had when they tried to change hotmail servers to Windows, and now imagine hundreds of PC running windows trying to cooperate to access a petabyte database... impossible, or their server will have to run a flavor of unix instead of Windows.
also MSN is more like a portal, with ads, banners, flashing things, etc, but I guess it should work for teens that spent 14 hours a day chatting on MSNM
speed was 1200/75... 1200 bauds in d/l and 75 bauds in u/l. I remember pretty well the Minitel, I was maybe 13 years old when it was introduced in France. It was in B&W of course, but after, on my Amstrad CPC6128 I had a program to save the page as quickly as possible, then disconnect, then read the page freely, and in colours!
What I remember is that it was damn expensive, "3615" service and more was a rape, 3614 was more affordable. And as the internet is now, the minitel has been, and still is, invaded by sex chat/site...
Hirobo is a well known manufacturer
of R/C helicopters, one of their model, the
X.R.B Lama is a small
indoor one, you can see a video of it in action,
it seems really great! It works with two counter rotating rotors, and has a cable to get power/signal so it's not true R/C, but still funny, imagine flying over your neighbour's cubicle:o). There is a review at RC Universe.
in whole america with my last name... in Europe there is my father, my brother, and that's all. I have spent dozens of hour in almost all directory/search engine etc and found noone with my family name
last year was the same thing with Quicken tax software, it took the disk ID (you know, something like 1B28-15E1 you can see with a simple chkdsk command in a DOS prompt), it then do some maths on it, then issue a number. Then you had to go on the website, enter the number on the box, then the number given by the product, and it issued a registration number, silly... So you could install it on different computer or hard drive, if you use some little utility to change the disk ID (you can even do it with a disk editor)
In europe, the TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse) made more than 500km/h in France, maybe 10 years ago... So what's the point of having a 400km/h train even if it's maglev?
never heard of the TGV in Europe (especially France) for example? in europe almost any locomotives use electricity, not diesel/fuel that pollute, are slower, etc... the TGV has a top speed more than 500km/h, but it's cruise speed is 360km/h, which would be enough in USA to go from one city to another
Apple make money with their hardware, not software. Me too I would be one of the first one to buy OSX for x86 if it exists one day! But I don't want to spend 4000$ on a Mac to use it, I want to use my PC hardware!
Nvidia nevar supported BeOS!!! even in 2D it's a 3rd party driver written by a Be employe, and forget 3D...
iirc on nvidia page there was a section "BeOS driver" that point to www.be.com but that's all
are you sure?
on my motherboard (abit BH6) I can plug the keyboard on the "color coded" ps/2 mouse connector, and the mouse on the ps/2 keyboard connector, and it works just fine...
in this small pdf file (a mirror I made), that talks about the PR rating AMD is using which is bad, and that the intel P4 2GHz is bettar, you can clearly see in the properties of the PDF that it has been created on a Mac!!! so WTF, Intel bash AMD processor, using a PPC cpu to make the report:)
remember ? there is a nice explanation here, don't know if it's really valid or not, but still, very interesting
we are using HDCopy here and it works pretty well, give it a try
yup, and the price for a 60 inches 16:9 HDTV is?

If it has been a icy rock block, I thought it would be cold when you touch it, no?
