    It reminds me years ago we had the same problem to access MathsExamResults.com or something, because there is the word "sex" in the url.
    I had the same problem 20 years ago to access https://xxx.lanl.gov/ and had to reach the right guy to bypass the damn filtering of name.

    This, this is america 100%. Why and how Fortune100/500 company still exist and operate like this is beyond me.
    This AC story is the story about everyone will live in his life especially in software development.
    If you got bought by a F100/500 company, you will endure this.

    It is plugged in, the morning when it's -17C, you enter in a warm car with 100% battery, and the ice and snow on the windshield and glasses is already fully melted, no need to scrap it!

    It depends of your need. In Québec for instance, electricity is very cheap, having a car that do ~50 miles and you can easily commute with it everyday and do all your standard groceries/shopping the week-end. All this with 0 gasoline (gas price is $4.50/gallon here).
    A lot of people have a second car with an ICE, like a Grand Caravan or whatever to haul the kids.
    EV cars are an efficient means of transportation

    I'm using Tomato (FreshTomato) on my R7000 and it is really great, it supports about anything that exist (vpn, usb, printer, torrent, etc)

    Many people on the R7000 with Tomato can go way better than this, you have to enable CTF (Cut-Through Forwarding), you will lose some filtering support because of this, but you will have full speed.

    Even RC cars, I have seen small LiPo pack catching fire, it's impressive, even a small 2S the size of a cigarette pack can burn down your house. Lot of video on youtube of battery fire.

    Diploma of immigrants are not recognized by Canada. It's silly because immigrant application scores are boosted because they have bac/master/phd/whatever but once in the country, they have to go back to universities!

    It's not uncommon in Canada to see doctors (yes, MD) or various degree engineers, driving taxi.

    I used NC in DOS in the 90s, then WindowsCommander in windows 3, then the name change at one point to TotalCommander, I still use it in win10, it is at version 9.12. Yes I bought it like 15 years ago. I don't know how to use the Windows File Interface, I only use TC.

    It's true, FB became lame, I never post on FB, I browsed it from time to time to see what's new for my extended family around the world, but it's all ads everywhere now, it's annoying. My kids (15 to 33) don't use it anymore and it's been months they went on it, they use Instagram instead.
    But I use Messenger a lot as about my only IM.

    Teenagers hate to speak on the phone, they only use texting via various apps (SMS, Messenger, whatever), or facetiming with iFacetime or Messenger.

    My daughter can use 1GB per day of data but 0 minute per month :)

    This Nokia phones are for old farts like me or OP who wanted to be cool in 1999 but had no money for a 8110 :)

  20. Same thing at home on my Tomato router... even if I change the SSH port to some random number, quickly there is dozens of try per day, from bots, strangely enough about all the IP addresses comes from USA.

    also, at what hour? I can commute in 18 minutes at 2AM, but at 7 or 8AM it takes me 45-50 minutes

    a motorhome do about 8MPG, driving at 60mph on a highway it takes about 7.5 gallon per hour, so ~$20 per hour, not so bad if you can sleep multiple people in it to share the bill, else a $99 hotel might be cheaper

    Same, started with Mint 13 or something, now at 17.3 with Xfce, I like it, it just works, everything works, nvidia GPU, wifi, BT, sound, etc
