Of course your statements aren't any less true or false- because they're opinions.
My point was that you shouldn't go around calling people snobs and then complain that there's only been one game you thought was worth playing in the last few years.
You don't give a "logical reason" for disregarding those other RPG's, so why should anyone else have to give a logical reason for disregarding Kingdom Hearts 2?
Those free brick-and-mortar rentals can be used for game rentals which normally cost an arm and a leg. It's a good way to stay on top of new releases, if you're already paying for the movies.
Blockbuster "throttled" me just the way you describe. Movies that were shipped to a city 4 hours away would take half a week to arrive. And there were many occasions where I was sent the wrong movie over and over again.
Colbert skewered the press pretty strongly too. I'm thinking the news blackout has more to do with the mainstream media's own shame than any courtesy to the President.
The Planet Elder Scrolls (formerly Morrowind Summit) forums were basically the place to go for Morrowind information a year or two ago, and they hosted the largest library of mods.
Oblivion and the official forums have changed that a bit, though the Elder Scrolls Planet forums are still a breath of fresh air compared to the underage cesspool that is the official boards. And even though fileplanet downloads suck hairy balls, Elder Scrolls Planet has one of the best systems for cataloging and ranking mods, in addition to what is likely the largest collection of mods.
Actually, Bethesda hasn't released all of their tools. Particularly, there's no way to import new models/meshes. The official explanation is that there's a legal problem with releasing Havok-compatible tools for free of charge.
A more cynical explanation could be that they're withholding the modelling tools to keep from being outshined by the mod community, and therefore better able to cash in on these micropayment official mods.
You summarized what are my (and presumably many others') main problems with Oblivion. It's a fantastic game, but in many ways seems like several steps backwards from Morrowind.
if you think that drunk driving is the only way to hurt yourself or die with alcohol addiction.
You're also kidding yourself if you think the repetitive but spontaneous release of dopamine and endorphine isn't a chemical addiction. These games are designed to create that kind of response, and the symptoms of withdrawal show up in these cases on a very regular basis.
Also Crysis, BioShock, Gothic 3, Heroes of Might and Magic 5, Metroid Prime: Hunters, Spore, Dreamfall (Longest Journey 2), Disgaea 2, Half-Life 2: Aftermath, SiN Episodes, Neverwinter Nights 2, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Hellgate: London, Sam and Max 2, Unreal Tournament 2k7, and Rise of Legends.
Good call, I forgot about the fixme command. I use the "ra" (reset actors) command all the time anyway, so the NPC's don't trouble me much with tcl toggled.
I can't imagine trying to play this game on anything but a PC.
He was talking about mobile SAM's- the ones used by small guerrila armies, not the large fixed ones used for national defense. His point is that the weapons we build are being built for the wrong kind of war.
The Defense Department spends TONS of money on military projects that have little relevance in the war on terror. Military spending is the #1 corporate subsidy that no one calls a subsidy. I'm sure a few Senators' districts get some payola out of it too.
If it doesn't have a half dozen naked gnomes dancing in front of an auction house.
I wonder if those same people would be so cavalier about bringing treason charges against the Plame leakers in the Bush Administration...

You claim that that your previous statement that there's a "dearth of RPG's worth buying".
...and then you have the nerve call the people who did play them snobs!
People disagreed, citing many wonderful games that have come out recently.
You respond, saying that they don't hold any interest for you...

but so are fuel and energy prices, interest rates, education and health care costs, the Federal Budget defecit and the international trade defecits.

If you don't like the politics on Slashdot, then why not use the freaking built-in filters to keep political stories from showing up?
and make this an Ultima title.

This is the real issue. There's a good chance Bethesda is holding out on the mod community to make a quick buck.

Ever hear of a company called Sager? Paint their high-end laptops green, add $500 to the price and you've got an Alienware laptop.

Just to name a few, mostly for PC.

"After that you can spend the rest of the level sneaking around like solid snake while wearing full plate mail."
The devs have repeatedly stated that the armor you wear will negatively affect your ability to sneak.
Press tilde.
Type tcl.
Press enter.
Unstuck.
And that's assuming you didn't use any of the ubiquitous teleportation methods to get yourself out of there...

but I wouldn't be too surprised if we started seeing crap games that have huge point rewards.
If a big title isn't selling well enough, MS can bribe gamers into buying it with the promise of huge point rewards.
especially if DirectX 10 is Vista-only.
