It would become quite scary if being arrested for some crime and later released for being not guilty to that crime would still have your name connected to the case in a public record.
that's pretty much how it works now. just ask the duke lacrosse team...
you can't unknowingly embarrass yourself. and if you actually feel embarrassment for someone else because they laughed at a crass joke on the internet, you've got some fucking problems.
why is it that you can't test drive games anymore? i bought doom way back in the day because of the free demo. same reason i bought quake. you don't want me to test out your game because you think i might not like it? too bad. i'll download it from the pirate bay, play through an hour or three to decide if i like it, and either buy it or be bored and uninstall it. and all of this is unaffected by your drm. the only thing that's doing is pissing me off once i've actually purchased your game. good thing i kept the crack from when i first downloaded it...makes it so much easier to play what i actually paid for.
that's pretty much what i was thinking too. as far as my understanding goes, "...the most dirty and unsanitary-looking food-service places I have seen." is an opinion, which can't be libelous. now, had the poster used wording such as "...the most dirty and unsanitary food service place ever" then there could be a case. since it was presented as opinion rather than fact, i don't believe it can be libel. and if it's not libel, there should be no reason to remove the posters' anonymity.
i was wondering when i would get flocked by underwear-clad bitches for dousing my body in the stink of axe, as their commercials clearly show. turns out advertising needs to be catchy, and so things may be exaggerated a bit. can't they just put a small-type disclaimer at the bottom of the screen like everyone else does with every other product ever? i mean, shit, microsoft ads show people actually using vista, and nobody's banning those...
personally, i won't be taking any consolation in knowing that a precedent was set that gives authorities in the U.S. more leeway in harassing the innocent. if the state "needed to punish her" then they "needed" to make a valid case on harassment charges. aside from online banking, i'm not sure that i've *ever* signed up at a website with my real personal info, and i'm sure i'm not the only one. the idea of being on the hook for a year in prison and a hundred g's for each such instance makes me real glad i don't live in the U.S.
you can't get people to stop using 'virii' anymore than you can get them to stop using 'm$' or 'all your base' references. it's the internet - lighten the fuck up.
also, you're giving language tips to someone typing in a pirate accent...
taken as a whole, the province is a little strange, but edmonton seems to be an oasis of sanity (in that it doesn't appear to have the same cowboy mentality as most of the rest of the province).
one province east and you're looking at $200 for what everybody has; i've heard of people paying $250-$300 for high test.

i bet this is what you were referring to. thanks for the lead, it's rather interesting!
read the title of your own post...right next to where it says "Re:"

what about an eleven year old boy?
Personally I don't use IE for most things, but I don't use FireFox for reasons of security at all; just because the extensions rock.
every time i try to browse on a machine that's not running ff w/ speeddial, i wonder why it's not installed out of the box.

no, i think their parents should teach them how to operate a motor vehicle in a responsible manner. why's that gotta be so hard?

when anonymity is outlawed, only outlaws will have anonymity...or something
and this case is the equivalent of then charging this baseball-wielding miscreant with violating the T.O.S. of the baseball. sounds pretty stupid, no?
