Is it just me, but Bush isn't doing this for the right reasons. I'm all for space exploration, its just cool beyond measure. But he's doing it to get votes. He doesn't have the time left in office to turn this out, and when it comes down to it, he's trying to get the geek vote. Just like the bill to grant illegal immigrants legal status when we have 1000s of green card residents legally waiting in line to become citizins - to get the hispanic vote.
I guess he figures going to the moon worked for Kennedy, it will work for him. I pray some of our presidential nominees support this bill, as they will most likely get my vote if they do.
I'm a little worried about what their motivation is. Do they see themselves as an Anti-American group? Or do they actually plan to make a profit out of Illegal movies?
Regular expressions are extremely powerfull, but that cryptic line of text is out of control. I mean, you have to be an expert in regular expressions to do the most rudmentary things. I've been using them on and off for years, and every time I find myself studying the book for hours just to write a simple search and replace.
I guess if I used them on a daily basis, I would be better off, but how many programers find a need for that?
I think they should offer a form of regular expressions in a longer form with easier to read syntax for the casual user.
I don't believe those are an accurate judge as to how many computers have Non-Windows OSes on them. This just shows how many times Windows OS users used Google, and I would be willing to bet a Linux/Unix user would use Google much more frequently.
With Windows installed 99% of all computers, all they have to do is put search right next to the start button. I hate to say it, but people will use what come's easy first.
Probably true. But to my knowledge all Tivo tracks (and is selling in this case) is Zipcode and viewing habbits. Statistically that doesn't bear enough information to trace back to an individual.
No one individuals personal privacy has been violated. So what is the big deal? Hopefully if they can sustain enough income from this, they can drop their monthly fees.
Here in the Philadelphia area we have stations like WXPN as well as a plether of college radio. Between those stations and NPR, I don't even bother with comcerial stations.
Many cities have the like, find something in your area and support it.
Also launching this month is the "2003 Mars Exploration Rover Mission" It includes two rovers that can treck signigantly further then the previous rover sent. Check it on their web site: http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/missions/
Both of these missions land later this year / January. They'll be providing more information about Mars over the following year then have gathered in total over the past 50. That is assuming they work.:-)
You know, I have not had the same experience. Yes I have hit lag on occasion, but I have greatly enjoyed the game. Its barely a month old, and during the first two weeks they had down time I think one maybe two days where I could not get in. Lag has caused me to die once maybe twice. Not bad considering I have probably died 50 or so times leveling & learning the game. I have been involved in a number of seiges, all of which have been a blast. We have not won all our battles, but my guild is doing quiet well. I have never experienced a Rollback on the server I am on. Incidentally, the one that was just hacked. Which has been the only problem this far.
You really sound like one of those I play 60 hours a week and I am frustrated with this game. When in reality you're frustrated with other aspects of your life. (No offense intended) Maybe because you lack leadership skills for your guild.:-P

Sure its nice to a good samaritan. But don't ever do tech support for the family. It all starts out nice with your girlfriend and parents. But eventually, you will start getting calls from your girlfriend's mom, you uncle, your cousins, your cousins' best friend. Then relatives you never met and then their friends.
Then when you start say your too busy, they all start to hate you. You get dumped and completely ostracized from your family.
10 years later you die and get eaten by your 7 cats. You wouldn't want that to happen would you?
Not that this has happened to me or anything, I only have 2 cats.

"But we're not going to do it just to create buzz." Yeah, ok. Uh uh, whatever you say!
I'm a little worried about what their motivation is. Do they see themselves as an Anti-American group? Or do they actually plan to make a profit out of Illegal movies?
This is the dorkiest conversation I have ever heard in my life.
That was insightfull.
What is a PHB?
Good point.
This is why I went into software instead of Engineering. When my program fails, I reboot / recompile / restore the drive ... whatever.
I bet a lot of mechanical engineers wish they had a restart button.

Just my 1/2 cent.

"biology rewrite computing or will modern day technology concepts and theory be integrated into biology"
.eom
Modern day technology concepts and biology will both one day become so advanced that they are are... indistinguishable.
I just tried to visualize that... I think I burst an artery.
- No manual 'auto stop' feature.
- Reception is so-so.
- Very poor speaker quality
- Overall the device feels a bit cheap, - Poorly written manual.
Is it just me or is this just an over priced crappy tape recorder with a light timer hooked to it?

If all else fails, join WHYY / NPR.
Doh!
Thanks
You know I think Nicolaus Copernicus was called a Beeb once too.

"while it's a bit redundant in the beginning and a bit short on technical details later"
This article sucks, but hum... here it is anyway.
