  1. This is about advertisements on AT&T's $85B US Bid For Time Warner Sparks Antitrust Fears in Washington (www.cbc.ca) · · Score: 1

Companies are trending towards data about you to find out how much you will pay for an item you are or will be searching for. These two companies specifically. They are attempting to combine forces to learn more about you and to help companies who sell you things set the price for as much as you will pay at the time you will be paying for it. This will in turn allow them to predict stock price rising and falling quasi-accurately and will attribute to the downfall of "capitalism as we know it" and the rise of "algo-capitalism" where computers (soon, AI) will make money for people who can afford it, and not for people who can't. This is a massive combination of workforces who produce a massive amount of content consumed by people on the internet, in games and on television. The data generated by those consumers is what is being collected and distributed. You all "know" this, ye who reads the comments. What's it going to take for a person like you to stand up and do something about it? This to me isn't an antitrust issue. It is a play on the economy, nay, the system of the world. Just my prediction(s). I'm hoping I'm wrong. Maybe I read too much /.

At my secondary school (circa 1996) - unisex bathrooms. For the faculty and the students both - although the faculty had their own bathrooms away from kids). Same story. I don't get why people are so obsessed with gender segregation. I guess it's because the females have couches and candy dispensers in their bathrooms and they don't want to give them up.

  16. right, ... lol teaching an AI to social media based off of the blabber and horse shit on social media is wrong. I honestly don't understand the push for AI. Companies should be working towards expanding the human mind, not the robot mind, imho.

This. Yelp is a horrible business model run by horrible people. They're sucking up their funding from small businesses, creating a business model out of something totally unnecessary. They're the cigarettes of the internet.

They still can't mark them "wild caught" unless they are. I wonder- do they still get labeled as "Atlantic Salmon"?

Not only can they not market them as "wild caught" but presumably they also can't market them as "GM free" unless it is true. Also, presumably, other companies are still allowed to market their product as "GM free" so from this point on if you care about this you should just assume that anything not explicitly labelled as "GM free" is probably not "GM free" or inversely, if you want GM fish then look for companies that do label their fish as such.

Better yet, catch it yourself. It's quite an enjoyable and delicious hobby.
