I think it is funny that the atheists, religion bashers, and all come out on these news items. I find it even more funny that instead of actually replying to the topic whether the sticker is constitutional or not, they instead reply and bash those who believe in God. The news item was about the constitutionality of the sticker. Personally I don't see how a sticker is unconsitutional. The sticker said that "Evolution is a theory, not a fact". Big deal. Evolution IS a theory.... Get a life!

But shouldn't they simply block the ports to those idiots who cause all of the trouble. I mean they can tell who is pumping out all of the unwanted and unnecessary traffic. So block them. For those of us who don't get virii, or have these problems, we would still have everything, and for the others (mostly unsuspecting joe shmoe windows users), they wouldn't be the wiser. Problem solved.

But to just blatantly block things is ridiculous. I work for a small software company, and our ISP (Charter Media) have blocked port 135. So those of us who do not work at our main office can not get to our mail server through outlook. We are forced to read mail using exchange webmail, and if you have used it, you know how limited and annoying it is.

So, this just block the ports blindly is ludicrous!

I think we should strive more for an image contrary to a bunch of whiners who complain and complain about not having this or that, who argue over desktop choices (when both really are striving to duplicate Windows), who argue over the term free, and who want everything but are not willing to pay for it. How many of you are software developers? How many of those are custom software developers? By this I mean, you don't work on a product, but rather projects, that end up going to one customer. Wanna give them your custom projects? I highly doubt it. If you do, you won't be in business long.

now, I agree that there are cases where free software can be profitable, but it is not for evryone, and by us Linux users moaning and groaning about getting something for nothing, we don't help the situation.

Software companies look at that, and say to themselves, "They are not going to pay the software, let alone support, so we are nto going to support that platform. We can make enough money supporting the mainstream platform, Windows."

And that requires the user to store e-mail on their workstation/laptop. And most users I know (myself included) never delete e-mail, so you have two places where you need to worry about space constraints. And you may think, "you should delete old e-mail when it is no longer of value", but if you have ever been through the ringer in a federal case where you're e-mail correspondence mattered, you would change your mind. It is always good to have that correspondence to cover your butt.
