    That's why medallion systems were created in the first place, e.g. to make sure the streets weren't flooded with drivers

    That may be the official reason, but the real reason was corruption. You grease a politician and you get to buy a medallion worth $500K for a hundred bucks.
    It's been in the news lately because apparently notorious POTUS-fixer Michael Cohen has a bunch of them.

    Bush was only worse because people let him be. Trump ordered a general to assassinate Assad and the general just ignored him. I don't think that was ever an option before. Maybe with Reagan towards the end but that's it.

    Not really. His approval rating has been over 40% almost the whole time. And his supporters aren't all the worst, many are just wishful thinkers.

    Actually, bigger oil companies can negotiate better with OPEC. It's not remotely the same situation as with Telcos.
