    Micro-targeting of voters was used by Obama against Hillary. But when Trump does it, suddenly Facebook has overstepped.

    Trump and associates were the ones called her Pocahontas and they were the ones that brought up the racial identity issue in the political arena, not her.

    The issue wasn't her racial identity - it was whether or not she lied about her heritage presumably to get votes or some other special consideration. She handled it exactly wrong by neither apologizing nor doubling down and she's probably too weak to win a general election. I like her though - I just don't think she can win.

    The numbers increase exponentially over that period though. We're on track to hit 100 school shooting casualties this year, so maybe 1 in 500K chance per student per year? A kid entering pre-K today has a better than 1 in 40K chance of catching a bullet before graduation.

    An installer doesn't have to do much, so it's hard to imagine Electron fucking much up from a technical perspective. Will it use way too much ram? Sure, but nothing else is running at that point.

    I imagine what's behind this move is how hard it is to find macbook-pro-having designers to work with Linux GUI stuff.

    All in all, I give this idea a "meh, why not?"
