None of those guys even work for RARE anymore. They went on to start their own company (Time Splitters was one of their games).
Not true. On Rare's mailbag section of the site (Scribes), someone asked the question regarding the people that left Rare to create Free Radical. The response was that of the four or five people that left Rare, only one could be considered a key developer. They also said that he exaggerates his involvement in the 007/Perfect Dark projects.
I tried to get a link for you, but they don't archive the Scribes back too far.:(
No doubt. You don't even want to bend solid CAT5 cable too much when you use it to wire a building. Typical rule is a 1" radius. Optical cables are much more sensitive to bending with a 2" radius limit.
If there are symbols in the password, techniques such as this don't work. Most security professionals recommend that password be at least 8 characters and contain random characters including upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols. A good example would be 8e#^D2(h
After a dozen or so times typing it in, you actually start to remember it. For those wondering, that password is something I just made up. I don't actually use it. =P~
This Contest is for United States residents only. Residents of Vermont, Arizona, Tennessee and Puerto Rico are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
WTF? Vermont, Arizona, and Tennessee are not part of the U.S.A. anymore!?!

Where the hell did you hear that from???????
The only change I'm aware of is that they are halting production of Internet Explorer for the Macintosh and Internet Explorer. There is a rumor floating around based off some guy's interview that there will be no stand-alone upgrades of IE. That isn't an official announcement though and they haven't decided how to handle future rollouts of IE. I highly doubt that Microsoft would stop producing new releases of IE for prior releases of Windows.

I honestly don't see any argument in showing that Apple gives out an unsupported OS for free. If you install it, you won't be able to use most applications written for OS 8 and newer. If you could show me that Apple provides updates to their older operating systems for running newer apps, I'll be impressed. I just don't want to be forced to upgrade to the lastest Mac OS in order to install the latest apps.

"Their releases add actual features, making people *want* to upgrade instead of forcing them to."
Where do you see Microsoft forcing people to upgrade??? Where the hell does this common troll spew come from? Microsoft recycles their code, refining it and rewriting various parts with each new release of Windows. They add an array of new features that prior versions didn't have to provide incentive for current computer owners to upgrade. Apple and every other software vendor out there does the same thing.
Personally, I see Apple forcing their users to upgrade since they don't make it simple for developers to write their code once and have it run on all their system versions. Microsoft releases updates for their old products for several years after they're released to ensure compatability. Heck, they just stopped producing updates to Windows 95 a year or two ago. Do you see Apple providing updates for System 7.5 anymore?
I should also mention that I prefer the macintosh operating system for my own personal use. Fortunately, I don't let that preference clout my judgement.
"EDIT (June 17, 2003): At this time, the search engine is operating for demonstration purposes ONLY. Therefore, the indexer/spider is not functioning and your computer will NOT be scanned if you submit a search."
In reference to what you said, you are partially correct, SETUP of NT4 and previous versions will not allow for a boot partition larger than 4GB; however, you can pre-partition a Hard Drive with NTFS using another WINNT computer to whatever size you would like and then install WINNT4.0 on the blank larger NTFS boot partition.
Be careful with this. Windows NT 4 does not support INT13 extensions, meaning that if the boot files move beyond the first 7.8GB of a drive, you're going to get some ugly blue screens when it can't load the files. Many people have discovered this after defragging their extra large system volume and rebooted to a blue screen.
MSFT plans to try to get everyone hooked on these server products, thus requiring the Windows Longhorn OS to access the services because that's the only way you'll be able to get a browser that speaks the appropriate language.
Microsoft will do what they can to stay on top of the OS market, but the server products are being pursued for a whole other reason.
E-commerce.
.NET's whole purpose is to make access to the services available to everyone, regardless of the platform. Microsoft has some smart people working for them and they realize that they can't put all their eggs in the Windows/Office basket. Microsoft knew that the Internet was the core technology for the future way back when Internet Explorer was first released. By pioneering the code and servers that Internet commerce relies on, they will remain at the top, regardless of the outcome of the Windows/Office future.
Microsoft is simply expanding into other markets to ensure stability and future financial growth. Would you argue that the X-box is an attempt to lock people into using Windows and Office?
Now I'll have to worry about STDs when I mount a volume. Anyone know when the final release of Norton Virtual Condom is expected? How about an iCondom for the Mac users?
A round manhole cover would fall right through without the lip to hold it. I was surprised to see that nobody else mentioned this point.
But think about if you were to actually try and get the cover through the hole and lip. A round or triangle manhole cover wouldn't be able to get through regardless of the angle. Take a square one though and you can drop it in vertically with it rotated to run along the hypotenuse (Imagine the square split into two right triangles to see the hypotenuse). The hypotenuse is longer than the sides.
