The beauty of having mouse gestures/pie menus is you dont need to alternate between mouse and keyboard.

What exactly are you doing with your other hand? For me, keyboard+mouse is faster than mouse only or keyboard only. Left hand hits all the keyboard shortcuts, mouse in the right hand clicks all the links and scrolls. I never really have to adjust. If you are using the keyboard completely, then you have a lot of time on your hands. If you are using only your mouse, well...you have a lot of other stuff on your hand. :)

Yeah, the /. editors have more important things they have to be doing instead of editing blurbs like...like...coming up with new words for karma levels, and making sure that ads for .NET always show up on any anti-MS article they post. Oh, and coming up with new excuses to not cache the pages they link to. These things are more important to the community than you might think! Show some appreciation!

If you want cleanly editted news, read ZDNet. Notice how they don't have as much variety or community?

And I know that after I flame an editor for a crap post, and then I am flamed in return...God, my sense of community is tripled. God bless the /. XPerience!

If you look at the history, pop music runs in cycles, usually about 10-12 years long. In the early 90s we were exactly where we are now. Teenie groups, no real innovation. Then Nirvana and "grunge" came along and started on a new cycle. 10 years before that it was 80s breaking out of what was left of disco. And it keeps going back. So I am being patient, because I know the next break is right around the corner.

If I developed a program that was Windows-only, and someone else took the inititative to get it working in linux, I would say "Good, now I don't have to deal with that mess." If anything, I would think this would cause Windows developers to be less prone to make something that works in linux, because "someone else will port it eventually."
