The deal with IE's popup blocker is that it blocks any new window spawn that is not called by the user directly (as in "Open new window"). You can then enable popups by site. Basically, they are opting you out of popups, and requiring you to opt in manually.
All three versions had content specific to the console, not just the GameCube. The reason the Nintendo version was more popular is because their exclusive content was Link.
The DS can also play all of your GBA games. This is the part that everyone is missing. Maybe it doesn't have a huge library of its own, but Nintendo is being foolish for not hyping that fact.
A monopoly is exclusive control of a particular market that is marked by the power to control prices and exclude competition and that esp. is developed willfully rather than as the result of superior products or skill.
Please note, that owning the market as Nintendo does with the GB is not a monopoly by the above definition. They have not and cannot restrict access. They have not controlled prices
Microsoft is a monopoly, because they did do both of those things. They locked out all of those vendors at the OEM level. Nintendo has not done such a thing with the GB. They have always just had the device that the consumer prefers.
No, he is saying that the next version of the other consoles will be nothing more than horsepower improvements, whereas the Revolution will be something completely new in gaming.
Flash is THE technology when it comes to elearning, one of the fastest growing markets on the web. Feedback, interactivity, appeal to multiple learning styles all at once. If you think Flash is all cartoons, ads, and lame Flash sites, then you have a very narrow view of what it really does.
A car's intent is to get you from point A to point B. Given that, you have no need for a radio in your car, because a car's original intent is not to entertain you. You have no need for a different, more powerful engine, because a car's original intent is not to get you there faster than other cars. You have no need for air conditioning, because a car's original intent was not to ensure your comfort.
Like everything else, original intent changes the more things are used and accepted by a wide and diverse audience. The orignal intent of the WWW might have been what you state 8 years ago, but things change. The web has changed based on the audience, which itself has changed based on the web.
The swf format is wide open. There are several non-Macromedia tools available to develop Flash movies. Even Adobe once had an app that would make Flash movies.
Just an FYI, but you are in the minority in terms of the market for these websites. Joe Sixpack thinks those websites are cool. If they didn't, then a company wouldn't waste the money paying high-paid designers. And there wouldn't be any high-paid designers. Those things exist because the market is there for them.
You have an option not to install it. If it is installed, then you just quickly clicked through without bothering to read the screens. Your fault, not Macromedia's.
Different markets, thus completely irrelavant that they are named the same. Googling "flex" brings up GNU Flex as the second hit, and Macromedia Flex as the third. Reading the short descriptions of both makes it fairly clear they aren't the same thing, nor do anything remotely similar.
Ideally, it should be able to charge and play at the same time, either drawing power from a wall socket, or maybe a cord that will connect it to the box and draw from there.
The browser shouldn't render the intent, it should render what is written. The fact that it is so forgiving is not a plus, it is a minus. It allows for people to create sloppy code that isn't compatible with other browsers, isn't compatible with the web standards. IE's forgiveness of bad code is one of its worst "features."
"So there is a possibility that we could see a Nintendo device with Palm OS organizer capabilities."
You will see the DS with Palm OS capabilities, and they will be provided in a cartridge. The DS already has what all other PDA's have, except much better gaming ability.
This is a pretty smart move by Nintendo. Basically, they give you a simple, handheld game system, and then allow you to decide what add-ons you want through carts. Keeps the "I just want a gaming system" folk happy, while appealing to the "everything and the kitchen sink" folk interested.
Of course, I am a Nintendo fanboy, so my view could be a bit biased.
Actually, I would say you don't care much for the games (or lack thereof) on the GC. If GTA and Gran Turismo were offered on the GC, would the PS2 controller be enough for you to choose it over the Cube?
I can create a 10 row, 5 col table in Dreamweaver that is just as compliant as what you can, and it will take 1/3 the time to do it.
Hand coding CSS in DW will be faster, as well, thanks to smart tags. Again, I can get it done faster, and just as clean as you.
In short, if your clients are willing to wait longer for you to hand-code websites in a text editor, thats great. Meanwhile, this monkey will be over here with my "typewriter" finishing sites for three different clients in the same amount of time that are just as compliant as what you do.
Curse you Nintendo! Curse you for focusing on quality versus quantity!
Car chases....Ronin. If it can measure up to any one of those chases, then it is an excellent scene.
Wait...Annakin is Darth Vader?!?!?

You forgot Metroid Revolution

No, I was thinking the part that, when you go to the page to download the plugin in IE, that says:
Get Flash Player 7 with Yahoo! Toolbar FREE.
Get Flash Player 7 only FREE.
with a radio dial to select the one you want.

Uh, that is just a horrible thing to say.

Dogs and cats are living together?
I guess you also want nothing to do with your house appreciating in value.
And despite being thinner and narrower, its still quite a bit more heavy.
You should call it Keyser Soze when you release it.
